Should be a high scoring game. Both sides will score. I wouldn't count this as win until the game is over.

RE: Kansas
Goodness, Kansas is not expected to win a game all year, literally... I get being hesitant to count wins ahead of time given our recent history, especially against a P5 school. However, if we lose to Kansas it is a terrible loss. If there was ever a game against a P5 that we should feel confident about winning before playing, it is this game. Kansas is terrible and we are pretty damn good.

Don't feed into that P5 mantra. There are about 15 elite college football teams and the rest of those teams ride their coattails. Nothing is power about Kansas football

Memphis will roll.

Not sure if it was T Schad or not, but someone said Mo St was better than people thought and it would be a tough game. Mo State flat stanky stanks.

RE: Kansas
I watched the entire KU-SDSU football game on Saturday. And, while KU is not very good and I have felt for the past couple of months, we'd blow them out, I am having a little trepidation now, about this game.

It is true that they aren't very good. They actually reminded me A LOT of the Memphis teams, right before Fuente got here. Poor tackling, mental errors, lots of penalties, and fundamentally weak.

But, after the way the SDSU game ended, I have to think they will come out with some fire and be ready to avenge the loss. While I still think the Tigers will win, we better not get full of ourselves and put them away, early.

I think we'll learn A LOT about the Tigers mental make-up and character this weekend...

You can say that every week, especially from here on out.

I've already checked the W column for this week.

From what I have seen of Fuente so far, he'll have the team ready to play at their best. Jayhawks on the grill, wrapped in bacon Saturday.

Why waste time with an entire word, "Kansas" ? We're getting too prescriptive in our thread titles these days. Next time consider just "K" or maybe just hit the spacebar once.

Kansas is small, slow and fundamentally unsound on defense. I'll be surprised if we ever punt on Saturday. They have a decent offense, and will probably put up some points. If we don't give the game away with turnovers and special teams mistakes, we win....period.

folks, with our stable of running backs...we'll have Kansas sucking wind by the 4th quarter. If we have decent success running the football...we might see Clay Holgorson by the 2nd half again.

Now, on this I 100% agree.

KU displayed some horrible tackling against SDSU.

Exactly, Fuente is giving the proper coach speak to keep his players focused and possibly to even GET his team focused. With his altering of depth chart and answers about how feels about this team (also some coach speak), I don't think he feels our team is hungry enough or giving adaquate effort. But Kansas is terrible! Just horrible!

Ok, your not into the brevity thing, for you then it wouldn't be Dude, but the dudester, or his dudeness.

Yep. If we don't win it means something went terribly wrong.

I wouldn't expect any article by Schad this week to favor the Tigers winning. He predicted this game as a L along with Bowling Green in his preseason prediction.

RE: Kansas
  • Last year South Dakota State beat Missouri State at home by 4
  • This year South Dakota State beat Kansas on the road by 3.
  • This year we beat Missouri State at home by 56.
  • So 56-4=52+3 +7 -7 (home field advantage) = a 55 point win for Memphis.

Works for me.

That's one way of looking at it.

But, as a Tiger football fan for the past 44 years, I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that we are REALLY good.

Give me a little more time, to recover from my decade's long case of BFS. 03-drunk

Which is fine. He's entitled to his opinion. However, keep in mind that his opinion means the same as anyone else's: nothing.
