RE: If UCF beats Stanford...
I predict UCF to score 15-14 points in this one.

The only reservation I have is the late start time.
I would love to believe that the practices were closed this fall and the team looked like crap this past week, because they're hiding something they didn't want to reveal against FIU. That we're going to see a different team, with a much better o-line play because they'll be running what they spent most of the time practicing. However, even as a die hard fan, I can't fool myself into believing that.
For the sake of argument, lets say its true. Still, travelling across the country makes this next to impossible to pull off. Even in the NFL, dealing with professionals, the win % for teams travelling over 3 hours are terrible. Add to this, they'll kick off at 10pm Orlando time, it's a recipe for disaster.
I think the oline will struggle to open running lanes, the team will fall behind, and Holman will look really bad, because UCF will have to become 1 dimensional. In short, the Missouri game last year.

I agree sublime. It was a tall order before that crapfest of a game they had Saturday, now it just seems near impossible. I want to believe and be excited, but I will be watching this game with much lower expectations.

I would rather beat Stanford and have a weird loss to FIU than vice versa.

I disagree, if Stanford became a "weird loss" that would put our program on a level with Alabama, Ohio State, etc

I really think UCF gets the win this weekend. They will correct mistakes this week and win a close one. Pulling for the Knights.

This game will be like Knight and day compared to last week. Stanford is not the only p**sed off team that will be in the game.

I actually think UCF matches up better vs Stanford than most P5 schools. They basically have the same scheme/mentality.

If Shaw gives Hogan a decent game plan, than Hogan can dominate. If not, and if UCF brings an imaginative offense, it could be close.

What won't be close is the UConn-Army game. UConn is coming for revenge after what transpired last year. I was at Yankee Stadium for that game.... UConn gave the game away with player mistakes (and with Diaco's refusal to call a timeout). It was painful. We will cleanse our pain away this Saturday against a younger and smaller Army team.

Based on last week's performance by UCF, I don't see it. But that's why they play the games.

I know life doesn't work this way, but if UCF somehow were "forced" to go 1-1 in those 2 games and got to pick which one to win, I'd say win @Stanford. You'll have plenty of chances to crush FIU later on if you want to. Not many opportunities to win @Stanford. A win will generate a lot of national attention. (Not as much, since Stanford lost to Northwestern, but still)
Quote:In your opinion, does UCF have a chance?
Yes. Not a 50/50 chance, but still a solid shot.

In an earlier thread, I threw down the gauntlet for a signature bet on the game. No takers from the UCONN crowd. Will you be brave enough to shed that avoiding mentality?
