Didn't expect them to blow these guys out.
We let off the gas in the 4th quarter and they scored a late TD to get to 16... Defense is scrappy and I like it.
Student section was full.... I'll guess we had somewhere between 17-20k there.

Troy was up 44-9 against a good CSU team with 3 minutes left in the 4th QTR. The bucks got a garbage time touchdown around the 2:30 mark to make it 44-16. Charleston Southern is a lot better than the Abilene Christian team Troy lost to last season. Looks like Troy may be improved. We'll have to wait until to conference play to see for sure though. They doubled our time of possession with 39:58 to our 20:02.

Troy QB Brandon Silvers now has 19 TDs and 3 INTs in his career so far. He also sports a 71% completion percentage and this year has risen to 9.31 yards per passing attempt, up from 6.78 in 2014. He'll be one to watch in the coming weeks.

I don't think we played a good game, yesterday. Rush D is suspect, QB never got into a rhythm, running game was avg against 1AA opponent. Frankly, I liked our game vs NC State better.
Lack of discipline penalties worry me!
Positives: Secondary is talented and well coached, coaches and players are way more into the game, QB/WR chemistry shows potential. I like our JUCO / transfer additions, they really help us.
Wisconsin will slaughter us next week, let's hope we stay healthy.

I disagree as well. If not for the trash TD at the very end of the game CSU's tripple option would have been held scoreless in the 2nd half. If this was last year CSU would have put up 30+ points.
2 of the penalties were from excessive celebration on the sidelines after a TD and a humble recovery. (Disagreed with those penalties)
Offense stuttered a little in the 2nd quarter but picked back up in the 3rd.... Rome wasn't built in a day. And we are in better shape this point in the year than I had expected... VERY happy

They ran 60 rushing plays and we stopped most of them. We stopped almost all of their passing plays and sacked them three times. Their points came on a 30 yard field we gave them, a garbage time TD against our 3rd string with less than 2:30 in the game, and a safety. Kudos to them, but the safety was the only set of points they worked hard for.
I could care less about excessive celebration penalties early in the season. It means the team is hyped and ready to play. Got to real those in for South Alabama and beyond. Roughing the kicker and personal fouls will be corrected soon enough.
The run game was disappointing. The O-Line and WRs will need to block better to have a chance in SBC play.
Overall, I thought we made several key improvements and we'll continue to get better. One more brick on the wall. Go Trojans.

It wasn't last years' team for either...This isn't the same TROY team with a less-than-motivated program. There is a renewed hunger that NB has brought back to VMS-LBF. It's happening...enjoy it for what it is, not what it was.

When you have a SR RB AND SR OL getting penalties of the 15-yd variety, it speaks to discipline. That trickles down...it's been going on the past several years. Don't do it...it does effect the team.
Otherwise, correctable mistakes...a team that will have a say in things for certain...
