CUSA Attendance
Some impressive numbers from our CUSA schools to start off the season. The Labor Day weekend seemed to help.

Marshall- 38,791
Southern Mississippi- 36,641
Louisiana Tech- 27,905
Rice- 18,296
Middle Tennesssee- 15,908

CUSA average after these first games: 27,508

Just hope we can all keep our attendance up as the season progresses.

My goal as a Marshall fan is to average over 30k this season. I think we can definitely do this if we keep winning.

Wow. Did la tech actually have close to that number? That's really good if so.

I'd love to see some photos from opening day with the crowd and the new facility.

RE: CUSA Attendance
Not to belabor a point, but I saw parts of the Rice game on TV, and it would amaze me if they even had 10K there for Wagner. I think that "tickets sold" might better characterize these threads than "attendance".

It always hurts us unless we play the game on the Thursday ahead of the weekend.

Not sure why it is. Last getaway weekend before the end of summer I suppose? But I always prefer for us to be on the road that weekend unless we have a reason to move the game to Thurs (and surprised we didn't this time since there was no TV in the way).

I loved our game being on this Sunday. I wish Marshall would try to make this a tradition for us.

Realistically we will have 24-27K for the next home game which is Norfolk State. NSU is horrible and will not attract the "causal" fan.

By the way, this was largest non WVU game attendance in Huntington.

Yes, it was packed, but we had a lot of help from the Southern fans. They travel VERY well to watch their team. Great fans!

18,296? The Rice vs Wagner game was played during the delay of the Tech game. The side shown during the coverage was almost completely empty maybe 50 fans, It look really bad. Maybe the other side was completely full

Yeah Rice is one of those schools. Usually the home side is pretty much filled.

They showed glimpses of the home side also, and that's a definite no. I've seen 2 games there in person, and the home side was about 60% full on both occasions. Must've been about 100 fans on the visiting side on Saturday though.

Rice stadium holds ~47k with the tarps IIRC, so about 24,000 on each side. Take it for what it's worth.
