Well, so much for that rule..

The rule actually allows rematches in the 1st round UNLESS you are in the same conference. Since UNH/Colgate aren't in the same conference there's nothing keeping the NCAA from matching them together in the 1st round. They do like to prevent rematches in the 1st round but sometimes it's hard to prevent, especially when you consider regionalization.

Must be no rematch of teams from same conference.

But I though last year the committee cited the reason why JMU got Liberty instead of Morgan State and UR got Morgan State instead of Liberty was the no rematches in 1st round? JMU/Morgan State and UR/Liberty certainly would have made more geographic sense. Well, with UNH/Colgate in the 1st round that proves that what they did last year was a load of BS. WTF?

They change their "rules" as they go to justify their ridiculous decisions. That's the NCAA for you.

Ah yes...no same conference in first round, and they try to avoid rematches from diff conferences.

They're guidelines, not unbreakable "rules". Relax, guys.

Yes - but this is Selection Sunday - we have to have something to be pissed off about! (Everything else about the bracket is perfect for us. Hell, once UNH wins their first game, I'll get to hear about JMU for the next week on the local news!)
