Is there a way that we can co-exist out here ... where we can get in our shots... drive traffic... and still get more people excited about talking WMU sports on this site (and by the way.. i have absolutely NO affiliation with this place whatsoever...)... ??

I just need to figure out a way for a few of us content loving hogs.. to get more content loving hogs out here... I mean... I really do like your commentary... if we had enough people to continually add ACTUAL WMU FOOTBALL relevant content in the middle... or rather have a few threads that actually ONLY spoke WMU football specific content... if you are desert... your basketball forum behavior is completely different... something of a jeckl and hyde type ... don't tell anyone else... but I think we both actually get along in the basketball forum... shhh...

Just saying... I know if we were in a parking lot before a game with a few beers.. we would likely be having a great banter back and forth... (if you brought the beer.. of course.. ).

You'd be amazed at the great conversations we have on my board, quite a few people migrated over, we post when we feel like having a good discussion, leave it alone when we don't feel it, but overall, no discourse.

Guess it isn't just me huh? 03-shhhh

Its apparent that YOUR board is private... so how would I be amazed if I cannot even see it?

My point was... to give some of our opponents (non-MAC) a place to come start conversations... and not punk-ing them out and forcing them away... If your board is private than great... but doesn't really address what I was talking about...

What is your board by the way? What is the secret pass word? :)

RE: How do we generate more stampede traffic?
The limited interest in this board has nothing to do with the tone of the board, nothing to do with the wit, wisdom, or idiocy of posters, it has everything to do with the local cultural passion for football or lack thereof. I was on the GSU board yesterday and they had nearly 900 posters on line, a good day for us is 50. And this is from a school with about 4,000 fewer students. I get that we are in Big 10 country, but they are in ACC and SEC country. Let's face it, the south sees football as a way of life, we see it as a sport.

Busy message boards are full of college kids.

I suspect the average college kid reads this board and think they're in a geriatric unit.

We spend more time policing speech these days than the 8 guys on Slappy Illy do. This place has become Slappy Illy.

Rather than let conversations evolve people are constantly trying to shut them down. I subscribe to argue, agree, or ignore. Seems to work quite well on the really busy boards.

I have been a long holdout. Should have gone to the "secret society board" where all the interesting posters are. Perhaps it's time

So I went to the board before it was private or I was banned. I knew where to find it because I was a member of the "dead broncos society" when DB first created it as an exodus from Broncos Illustrated. Back then it was pretty awesome, good discussion, knowledgeable posts from a lot of these guys before they hated wmu. After DB's most recent banning and the lawsuit stuff the "conversation" on his board was basically threads started by DB to piss and moan about posters here, mixed with a few random threads about wmu.

Look at what you have. Ten posters who spend all their time worrying about one poster and reporting to mods. I haven't seen this many old ladies at the Red Hat Society.

Evolving conversations? DB had been doing everything he could lately to stop that from happening. #brocoach

Everyone gets their panties in a bunch over petty things. Let it go and forget about it. Why is this even a thread?

Because it's freaking exhausting when it overtakes every discussion and is blatant trolling. I read RCMB. Those dudes would eat his lunch.
