The last time I checked, teams win based on the scoreboard, not how many fans are in the stands. The obsession with attendance for football is mind-boggling. How many fans did you have at your women's volleyball game? How many at the Lacrosse game? Nobody cares. You sound like that fan of Ill State.

Didn't you guys lose to Ohio 3 times in a row before last year? Impressive.

Now you know why we laugh and snicker at your 13,000 fans per game.

That's because there's nothing else to do in West Virginia.

And why would I watch a Marshall/Purdue game? The last time we played Purdue we blew them out. Somebody else from the MAC beat them last year. Big deal. Not to mention that Marshall fans have bigger egos than anybody in a G5 conference including Boise.

9/6/14
CMU 38 Purdue 17 at West Lafayette
9/28/13
NIU 55 Purdue 24 at West Lafayette
9/21/13
Purdue 20 Indiana State (MVFC FCS) 14 at West Lafayette.

They are a bad football team.

I can certainly agree with you on that one. Huge ego. Yes, they did lose 3 years in a row to Ohio before last year (being their stand-out year). Consistently losing in the MAC East should presumably keep egos quiet, even not too loud just a year after finally going undefeated in that realm.

Next week's game of Marshall @ Ohio -- I'll be rooting harder than I ever have for a MAC East team since Akron went down to the wire @UM a couple years ago. Speaking of UM -- they are a fanbase of HUGE EGOs. UM Motto: "Arrogance... Over Excellence".

Good job beating NIU on a down year, with the worst fielded team since '09. This is your greatest accomplishment, since..... Continue living in the past! Funny how NIU lost and still got two votes on the AP preseason poll. WKU got a vote too, Marshall got 0. #norespect. So congrats on surviving Purdue (lmao), good luck w/ the rest of your season.

NIU was 11-2 MAC Champs and thought they were not only going to play with Marshall but win. Beating Purdue I guess is the greatest accomplishment since because it's the first game since then.

Wish you no luck on your season because you guys are turds that for some reason have to run your mouth on anything Marshall related. Marshall fans didn't even start this thread. For the record it's a rebuilding year and I'll be glad to get by Ohio and Southern Miss. Rivalries are usually a toss up anyways.

No class? Go back over and read some of the things you've typed. Far from respectful.

I've seen little that's classy from either side in this argument. It's 2 midgets arguing about who's taller, so they can proclaim they're the biggest midget.

Much ado about nothing, if you ask me.

RE: OT: Marshall getting pushed to the limits by Purdue
FWIW I thought Marshall was being undersold a bit last year because of the weak schedule. They weren't winning by 1 or 2 points, they were winning by a lot (well except the WKU game). Kinda like Boise had been doing in the MWC.

And the sane NIU fans last year realized we were struggling in lots of games. Not too surprising given the new QB.
