You have every advantage possible. A home game on a Thursday after playing last Thursday. We played Saturday and have a road game on Thursday.

59-10

we have zero advantage. your team has the blueprint. doughty will run for his life. our defense gave up 40 points per game last year. worst defense in the conference. you have a former all-american txfer from a top 5 program at quarterback. your starters played one quarter in your last game so they're fully rested. you have a holtz on the sideline! not one la tech fan is predicting a loss. many western fans are predicting their own loss. that many message board savants can not be wrong. petros papadakis said la tech is the best team in the state of louisiana.

i'm expecting a similar outcome to last year's game. i'm okay with that. i don't like getting beat like a red headed stepchild but i've been a western fan so long i'm used to these things.

see you at the game.

The short week excuse/reason doesn't hold much weight. Like Beed said, your starters didn't even sweat, and I'm sure La. Tech's WKU scout didn't just start Monday afternoon after school. Gonna be a good one played by both teams. That's what we should all hope for as a conference. Under the lights at the Houch!!

RE: WKU vs La Tech opening line
Our starters scored their last TD with 6:33 remaining in the 2nd quarter...so a bit of an exaggeration with the 1 quarter stuff.

Regardless of last weeks games this should be a good game with plenty of surprises. I hope it looks good on TV too because plenty of folks will be watching.

If I were a betting man, it'd be La Tech for me. You don't make up a 49 point margin in one year. I'd go with Tech at anything under -10.

p.s. we should know.

How about 58 points? FIU vs MUTS 0-48 2013 FIU 38 MUTS 28 2014

I don't have a clue on who wins this game tonight but what I do know...the score from last year wont play a part in it

You guys found a statistical outlier at least 2 stand. dev's from the norm. Can't say it won't happen but odds are stongly against it. Vegas only has about 8 hours to wake up to this fact. Heavy money should be going on LTU with such a statistically significant metric so close at hand.

I disagree slightly. I guarantee you that the WKU players know what happened last year and it's on their mind. That focus and determination will only last until after the first few plays and then they will all settle into playing their game but don't underestimate revenge/pride/etc. on how players approach the first few plays of a game. Will it affect the outcome? Very doubtful. Will it play a part in their mental state at the beginning of the game? I believe so.

With that said, this should be a great game. Is it 7:00 yet?

RE: WKU vs La Tech opening line
The score does play a part of it. WKU has been hearing how good they are for almost a year with one glaring exception...The Tech game. Motivation to compete will not be a problem for the Hilltoppers. Tech has been hearing how good WKU is supposed to be and I am sure it ways on our QB's mind that he has been categorized as a failure by the P5 media for the Florida debacle. I think we will see significant motivation all around and a great CUSA conference game tonight. BTW, longest day ever!!

I bet if you check scores from year to year you'll see in college sports lopsided wins that turns into defeat the next game.....

again FIU 2013 FAU wins by 16 and in 2014 FIU turns that 16 point loss into a 28 point win...44 point turn around

UAB 2013 LOSS 27-62 TO S.Miss 2014 UAB beats S. Miss 45-24 a 56 point turn from one year to the next...

not uncommon in college football or from game to game in college basketball

Reading posts from La. tech fans about game not even sure why some are bothering to go and or watch the game....You guys seem to already know the outcome..I like some other fellow WKU fans have no idea what to expect...I assume and think its going to be close hard fought battle, but you never know in games with such early high stakes involved....I will be extremely ecstatic if we pull this out, just really hoping it does not come down to a 2 point conversion either way for the 4th straight game....Not sure I can handle another game like that...

I expect that from young(er) fans but from reading the post on this board I get the impression Tech has some older, well at least past that 28-30 age where the "I can whoop the world" starts changing into seeing things through the eyes of how things usually really go...

other words last year usually does not make a huge difference in the next game

Younger fans look at it as ..if I beat you last time by 1000000 I will this time. Sometimes that's the case but more times than not it isn't

Going by Western's last 4 games this one comes down to a 2 point play...I really hope it doesn't. I rather lose by 48 than on the last play of the game. Plus my heart might not take another close game

Think of it this way, Topper fan: Our barking may make your victory dance that much sweeter when y'all kick our ***.
Here's to a great and injury-free game in Bowling Green tonight! 04-cheers

I haven't once predicted victory form my Dawgs. I think its going to be a hard fought game regardless of who wins. Don't be so sensitive to the fact the opposing team's fans are predicting a win in their favor. Thats just college football.

so WKU fans, what do you expect us, Tech fans to say? It would be BS if I say I don't think Tech will win.
