2016 Basketball Signees (Final)
OFFICIAL 2016 BASKETBALL SIGNEES

Signees for the 2016 class include:
- Eugene German, Noah McCarty, Nick Wagner

1. 6'1" PG Eugene German (Gary, IN)
Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiNXYM9rGWc

Junior year stats: 32 ppg, 6 rpg, 3 apg, 3 spg, 55% from the field, 36% from three-point range

Monty's Take:
"Eugene is cut in a similar mold to Travon Baker, He is an athletic, jet-quick point guard who is a big-time scorer, having led the State of Indiana in scoring last season. What we also like about Eugene is his ability to run a team from the point guard position.”

2. 6'8" PF Noah McCarty (Sterling, IL)
Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2279677/high...9200596/v2

Junior year stats: 18.8 ppg, 10.1 rpg

Monty's Take:
“Noah is a skilled big that can play both on the block and step out to the three-point line, most of all, Noah is a competitor, a winner and a very high-character young man.”

3. 6'3" G Nick Wagner (Galesville, WI)
Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3493921/high...7459375/v2

Junior year stats: 20.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.8 apg
Sophomore year stats: 19.5 ppg, 5 rpg

Monty's Take:
"Nick is a very skilled guard with great range, he is one of the best shooters in the Midwest and has shown that he can make threes off the catch, on the move, and off the dribble. Being the son of a coach, Nick has a terrific work ethic and understanding of the game.”

Official Press Release:
http://www.niuhuskies.com/sports/m-baskb...15aab.html
“We are excited to have these three young men join our program, We think this is a great combination of players to fit key positions we will lose from our current senior class. Eugene, Noah and Nick have high character, high basketball IQ and come from great families. I know they are all excited to be a part of the NIU basketball program and to help us reach new heights.”

The 2016 class had three scholly's available. It is full but you never know what happens after the season. Wagner is a good 3pt shooter. German is a big time scoring point guard. McCarthy will be a back-up power forward/center.

I like the fact that he is a coach's son.

Baker, Bowie, Chuks. Only three seniors and already have three commitments If this big time shooter accepts the offer where does the fourth scholarship come from?

I do not know. I guess someone would have to leave. If, Orris doesn't get many minutes this year, he is the only one I could see leaving.

Is he related to Dan Palombizio, the player from Ball State back in the 80s?

RE: Basketball recruiting thread
I remember Kenny Battle dunking on Dan Palombizio at Chick Evans FH. As they ran down to the other end, Palombizio yelled at Battle, "don't try that again!" Not long after that, Battle took an alley-oop pass and dunked on him for the second time! That was a beautiful moment!

If the son is the same player as his dad, that would be a very good recruit!

His dad was definitely talented. Played two years at Purdue before transferring to Ball State. Big-time scorer. 6'8", strong inside player and could shoot from distance. Interesting story here about his decision to transfer.
