It's finally over. Great win Herd. Devin redeemed himself with that TD but you probably wouldn't have needed it as much if it wasn't for his two fumbles. That's the nature of the beast. If you try to get extra yardage when you have a whole slew of defenders many times you will lose the ball.

Game looked big time on television.

USM and marshall both did a great job making cusa look like a big time conference in primetime matchups this weekend.

So picking up from the HoD bowl last year, is this a 2-game CUSA win streak vs. the B1G, or was/were there some game(s) in between I'm not recalling?

Marshall and the fans really need to send South Alabama head coach a thank you card, fruit basket or something. Tyquan Lang (2 INTs run back for a score, 3 pass break ups and 17 tackles) 2 years ago was a South Alabama commit up until the day before signing day. Jones then informed Lang he had no room for him. Doc stepped in and offered him the last scholarship for the 13 class. He's be a starter and a good one from day 1.

Congratulations Marshall. Watching this game was a sobering reminder of the level we (Charlotte) find ourselves on now. Looking forward to growing into this conference over the next few years and hoping we can give you a bit of a run on Halloween.

Marshall beat Maryland in the 2013 Military Bowl (their last game in the ACC prior to joining the Big Ten). Big Ten is doing their best AAC impression against CUSA. :)

We won this game with a few self-inflected mistakes, and this was against a team that looked "studly" on defense and on the o-line. I think we are in store for another fun year.

Congrat's Marshall fans. Looks like another successful season ahead. Right now, I give the nod to the Herd over the Toppers in the east.

Long season. WKU's got the best QB by a bunch and MTSU is always tough as nails especially at home. Nothing's been determined in week one. The conference is getting better by a lot from top to bottom imho.

Agreed, but it feels good to win that first game. I hope we continue to improve.

i'll be honest. from the last part of the 3rd quarter through the middle of the 4th i thought you guys were pulling a western.

but then again, i thought the same thing about us at vandy. and we were able to pull it out.

and you guys finished it out strong. a really nice drive for your new quarterback to establish himself with the team. and your stud with the td.

and then to finish it off with the pick six. i loved it.
