Congratulations to Taylor Heinicke. He has accomplished so much at every level along the way. I can't wait till the time when he gets a chance in a regular season game. Taylor is the type of athlete and person who makes all Monarchs proud!

Very, very thrilled for TH. A great representative of our school.

Wasn't Ronnie Cameron our first NFL player. He was active for the Browns for a couple of games. As a Browns fan, there isn't much point to watching what is happening on the field so it gave me lots of time to scan the sidelines!

Ronnie Cameron was great for us! I guess my thinking was TH came in as a recruit, Cameron was a transfer.

Yes, Cameron suited up for a couple of games for the Browns, but never played a single down. Which begs the question, "When do you become an official NFL player?"

Great new for Heinicke and ODU. I am sure this will also help with recruiting. That said I have a question, those of you that really are in to Pro ball what is his future? I really love high school and college ball but do not have the knowledge base to know but I am very curious.

I surely do not claim to know any more than you do, but I suspect that the only reason the Vikings kept him is because they believe he is a true NFL quality quarterback, in spite of his FCS background and being shorter than the prototypical NFL quarterback. I think that by next year he will be the No. 2 QB for the Vikings, and when he gets the opportunity to play, he will perform at a high level. By the time his contract is up, he will have several teams bidding for his services to be their starter. Time will tell.
