I'm still trying to figure out where all this hype for Hackenburg came from.

I think a lot of it is O'Brien leaving....

Freshmen year 20 TD/10 INT 134 rating
sophomore year 12 td 15 int 109.4 rating
today 11/25 with 0 td 1 int 70.6 rating

Franklin no where near the QB whisperer that O'Brien was. You can see it in Hard Knocks even to some degree.

Is that why I saw a lot of PSUers wishing 0-16 on Coach BO'B with the Texans?

My bad. I just thought that was mere sour grapes.

Franklin is recruiting well. It's going to take a few classes to get the kind of talent he needs to compete in the Big 10. They were pretty depleted when he got there.

He wasn't being honest with the kids. Both years he let the rumors do the talking but said he was there for the boys. It was more uncertain the second year, and, apparently, he told Hack, obviously concerned for a slew of reasons, he was staying. Coach walks, Hack's in a bad spot.

Franklin might be a good recruiter, but his offensive schemes blow. Like, this looks like Jay Paterno 2003 and 2004 bad. And it's not Hack's style.

That remains to be seen. Until the kids sign on the dotted line, they aren't committed.

RE: WE ARE...
reminds me a lot of USC- initially they were fine with the sanctions but then it really started to hit. That's what we're seeing with Penn St with this year for example only 10 seniors and 19 juniors. That's hard.

So a "rebuilding year" for Penn State it is. So sad.

The only real downside to that is that in two years, all of those freshmen and sophomore players will be juniors and seniors with a lot of experience.

Very true, but that's assuming that all of those players pan out.

Oh, I said experience, not talent or skills. Still, a senior heavy team that went through some losing seasons can be hard to deny once they get a taste of success.
