Game
Just back from game. Great experience.
It took a quarter and a half for our offense and defense to figure things out, but after that I thought we played well offensively, and defense struggled but played hard against a good offense. This may be the same margins we lost by last time against MSU, but was very different. We played much better this time, and could have had much more but for few drops and bad breaks. It was fun to watch.
We are going to be an offensive juggernaut.
Game atmosphere was excellent. Had great time. Looking forward to next week. Two good teams.

I'll be watching Georgia Southern like a 40 year old dad watches his freshman daughter out on her first ever date with a senior football player. Like a freaking hawk!

GSU is liking what they saw with MSU's running game. Those counters and sweeps were very effective.

RE: Game
Our man-kicker was great on kickoffs. Did you see MSU's kickoff that started towards Phillips and then sliced WAY WAY WAY to the right?? WITH DISTANCE?!?
Our watch-list kicker missed wide to the right from the 20...AT HALFTIME. Come on.

Can't help but think we would've weathered that early storm better with a game under our belt.

Yep. MSU didn't run the ball super-awesomely, but then again, with Cook's missed passes, it put them in throwing situations to get those 1st downs, which made them more predictable on many situations if they were going to run or not. MSU ran for about 5 yds a carry, rotating some guys in there to figure them out. GA-Southern is going to average higher. We will need to stop them on 3rd downs, that'll be the key.

Lol GSU does not have close to the OLine that MSU has. they commanded the line of scrimmage. Not to worried about stopping their run game

They run the same kind of offense as Air Force with one exception, due to weight restrictions Air Force is forced to use smaller lineman than Georgia Southern. GSU is a good football team and honestly this game worries me, because unlike MSU. GSU won't give up on their run game just because they have a third and long.

Not so fast. GSU crushed Florida 2 years ago in the Swamp. CRUSHED. Went undefeated in the Sun Belt last year, and almost beat high-ranked @GA-Tech and @NC-State.
GSU has some replacements, but 2 years ago they were feeding off of FCS-level scholarships, so they know how to deal with not-as-many.
The way we played Air Force -- and it being down there -- no, they're not going to be the underdogs unless they look BAD today.
