So what's the vibe?
Aside from the MSU game, is their actually optimism in the overall community? From afar (Colorado) it seems like there is, but I wonder if local businesses are putting RTB on their signs, and WKMI and other stations are actually talking about the Broncos a bit. Any feedback would help!

RE: So what's the vibe?
Bronson Park has food trucks, live music, WMU cheerleaders...great time down there for lunch today.
New students are touring downtown where our W Flags are hung on nearly every building.

RE: So what's the vibe?
Pretty much everyone I've talked to expects a blowout.
Sadly, I expect the place to empty out in the 3rd. These overhyped games have never turned out well for WMU, or most MAC teams for that matter.
Boise at UT, NIU Orange Bowl, MSU at CMU, VT at WMU, and 11th ranked Marshall at a sold out WMU. None of those went well. Sure we and other MAC teams have had success against so-so P5s, but in games that could have changed the MACs mid major image the outcomes were not good.
My hope. Stay healthy, show growth, don't embarrass yourself, and please God, no outlandish rowing on the sidelines
24-10 3rd
38-10 late 4th
38-17 Final

Yeah, I fear that as well. I fear a 24-7 halftime lead or something, with it being 34-10 midway thru 3rd Q. That's my greatest fear.
For me to be within range of being content:
17-7 MSU at the half
31-17 at the end of the 3rd Q
41-20 final

Ha....if WMU cant get national attention for the way we play msu.....the "outlandish rowing on the sidelines" will do it. We will be on everyones highlight reel.....across the country.....RTB

Debbie Downers!!!!!!!!
Put your big boy pants on and I don't mean Depens.
This is a great opportunity for WMU, its FB program and Kalamazoo to shine.
Bring in Nichols state and you can't find two hoots to rub together who care.
Embrace the opportunity. Keep scheduling up and quit whining for crying out loud.
WMU's talent level is up and is getting even better (deeper). That talent is accruing experience you can't buy.
MSU isn't a meat grinder. WMU can hold it's own.
Does MSU have a talent advantage? Yes. But who hasn't seen relatively closely matched opponents where the fave caves?
It's at WMU, the team is good. The weather looks great. MSU would be a huge oar to add to your collection. WMU is puny compared to MSU taking on and beating Brutus Buckeye.
WMU has advantages that even talent can't overcome.

The vibe? Whether downtown or on campus, the vibe is EXCITEMENT!! It's party time in Kalamazoo! Lots of local support. Only 14 tickets available on StubHub. Waldo will be rockin'. So will I.

RE: So what's the vibe?
BTW, local news channel 3 (WWMT) will be broadcasting the 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. news from Waldo and the Kanley Track environs. And the anchors finished their telecast last night with a big "Row The Boat!".

RE: So what's the vibe?
This entire community is buzzing, and it's fun to be a part of right now. Even Sparty fans are kind of letting us have our time this week - not many are talking smack or trying to "put us in our place".
Is it Art Hop tonight downtown, too? Not sure, but there is activity everywhere it seems!
ROW.
