We played way down below our competition yesterday.

There it is ahead of schedule. Read my earlier post in this thread. Here come the excuses.

RE: UCF Fans: The sky is not falling.
We ain't beating anyone if we can't get more than 50 yards rushing all game. Stanford, Furman, or UConn.

The OLine needs to be imploded and put back together with the leftover pieces.

Holman = Great, Wilson = Good, Akins = Great. We just put together a run game (starting with Stanback moved down to 3rd string behind wilson and McGowan), and we'll be fine.

Virginia Tech beat the National Champions last year, but went into OT at 0-0 with Wake Forest. Not saying we are in any way postseason material but a victory against someone with a pulse will right the ship.

Lastly, but most importantly, credit to FIU for showing up to the game and shame on UCF and the coaching staff for playing bland, borning, unmotivated football.

SMU showing signs of life against the #4 team in the country has me feeling better, and if Temple can beat Penn State should erase my worries of being responsible for a black eye to the conference.

Holman = Good

He's not even close to being great. He's never shown signs of being great in his career so far. That said, having a good QB is usually all it takes. Even they can look majestic at times. Worry comes when you have a bad QB.

Seriously you have one good season thus far and now qualified to condescend to a program that's 8-0 against your team bc they lost their season opener. This is an 8-4 , 7-5 kind of year for us. Idk what you'd expect from a depleted team with two new coordinators. It's fun to smack talk but I'd expect a little more humility from a Memphis fan such as yourself. Best of luck this season, cheers.

Our SOS took a hit, but it's ok, Temple's win today might even it out.

All football teams have their ups and downs, one bad year does not mean we're going to return to being basement dwellers.

Here are some season by season records:

2005: (8-5) - Won CUSA East but lost the championship
2006: (4-8)
2007: (10-4) - Won CUSA East and won the championship
2008: (4-8)
2009: (8-5)
2010: (11-3) - Won CUSA East and won the championship
2011: (5-7)
2012: (10-4) - Won CUSA East (Tied) but lost the championship
2013: (12-1) - Won the AAC and won the Fiesta Bowl
2014: (9-4) - Won the AAC (Tied)

Looking at those seasons, we're due for a correction. We arent a blueblood program that can simply reload year after year. When players leave, we have to train new ones.

We have no reason to believe that we'll have a streak of losing seasons. The past 10 years, every time we've had a bad season we've improved to be respectable the following year.

Keep your cool, take the smack talking by everyone else in stride, and be content knowing that history shows next year will be better.

No offense but I don't see Stanford choking 2 times in a row.
