But UCONN barely beat an FCS team and UCF and Tulane were embarrassed.

Lot of football to go so again, I don't want to be overly critical but...

Anybody who thinks the AAC is superior to any other G5 (most of you) just don't live in reality.

We aren't...not in football and sure as heck not in hoops (at least last year).

Many of you think Im too hard or troll the AAC...I am just honest about the situation and can call a spade a spade.

Maybe some of these games will help some of you come to grips with reality.

the AAC is no more a power conference than the sunbelt, CUSA, etc etc etc.

that snake oil salesman Aresco calling the AAC a power conference is a bad joke...I've said it from the beginning. Maybe some of you will start to see things for what they are now.

AAC fans actually thought they were better than the other G5s? Hahaha where did that thought process come from?

Basketball mostly. In football there is very little difference if any.

Yes these losses are not great, but it does not take away the value the AAC has in terms of tv partnerships. This league will always have a network that will want to parnter with us,because of the brands and fan basses that maje up this league,

Cusa will never gin up interest in the world of tv because their brands are very weak

People on this biard need to chill.

Is a Biard anything like a ute?[Image: xhhh38.jpg]

What a surprise,a Southern Miss fan srarching high and low for some form of victory.

The understatement of the century my friend! I still think Memphis, Cincinnati and ECU are going to carry the league this season. As it should be most seasons going forward until the Big 12 takes us 3 away....cheers!

I think Houston is going to take the west. Look at what they did with a coach that got fired last year and a QB that started the year as a WR. Watch out now that they have a better coach.

As they say, don't count your chickens before they hatch. ECU vs UConn on that Oct 30 Friday night matchup is no gimme for ECU. Throw in some cold weather and a rowdy home crowd and that game is certainly winnable for UConn.

What are you twelve? What does UC going undefeated have to do with the OPs original premise? The AAC was what? A distant third last year? And now this year is not starting off so well either. I expected UCF may take a step back this year, but I did not see them losing to FIU. The bottom of this league is in total rebuild with 3 new coaches, hell even Houston has a new coach, and with new coaches comes an adjustment period and some WTF losses usually. I think ECU will be lucky to win 7 games this year with their QB situation, and Temple has an extremely difficult schedule. UC has a great offense, but a complete question mark on defense, if the D is like last year, then 8 or 9 wins max. I think Memphis will be good, but again, 8 new starters on D, so who knows. What about all of this screams we are head and shoulders above the rest that so many shout about on here? I get its early, and things can change, but that does not mean the OP is wrong either.

we were barely voted 2nd by most polls and analyst that matter last year..the bcs computers voted c-usa second which decided g5 disribution but lets not act as if that was not the first thing thrown away by the ncaa in the new system..the computers arent even allowed to be used are reference tools for the committee

temple could beat penn state on national tv and we could be having a different discussion tomorrow or really any other marquee game

ucf has time to recover..and if they dont we are the MWC that is dependent on one team...can we see how all our teams look before making whiny posts about how horrible our league is becuase of ONE upset

There is absolutely nothing whiny in my post, I laid out why I think the OP may be correct, nothing more. I never said the league is horrible either, so stop twisting things. I am stating that last years results plus what everyone has, does not equate to being above the other leagues.

Well... we do boast some of the best marquee wins nationally in this conference... and seemingly every year. That's not debatable.

UCF's win over Baylor tops any and all of them, but ECU does carry the league in national attention fairly often. Cincy does too, but not necessarily because of wins, but because they still have a faint "P5" smell to them.

Can we allow the actual good teams in this conference to play a game first, before we go and burn the conference to the ground? Cincy, Houston, Memphis, Navy, ECU, etc.

Everyone knew Tulane and UConn sucked, they aren't in the conference for their football prowess. UCF was a bit of a shocker, but everyone is entitled to a rebuilding year once in a while, and with all they've accomplished the past few years, you won't see me pointing fingers at them.

not your post but the OP..
you dont find it whiny that immediately after our first loss we get a thread and non stop post about how horrible our league is ..and then tries to down play vill as much as possible...saying "another team barely even beat an fcs"...removing the context that vill was an elite fcs team that returned a ton and few teams would have blown them out

we got his narrative months ago

A bit of a shocker? FIU is regularly one of the worst in the country. I was floored when I saw the final score.
