Chase 2006 (So.):
Passing - 153/265 (57.7%), 1707 yards, 21 TD, 5 INT (only 8 games because of injury)
Rushing - 107 attempts for 481 yards (4.5 ypc), 4 TD
Chase 2007 (Jr.):
Passing - 300/508 (59.1%), 3377 yards, 29 TD, 16 INT
Rushing - 144 attempts for 535 yards (3.7 ypc), 8 TD
Chase 2008 (Sr.):
Passing - 326/490 (66.5%), 4119 yards, 44 TD, 7 INT
Rushing - 154 attempts for 693 yards (4.5 ypc), 12 TD
Driphus 2014 (Jr.):
Passing - 199/331 (57.7%), 2842 yards, 24 TD, 8 INT
Rushing - 121 attempts for 401 yards (3.3 ypc), 1 TD
I would put Driphus's junior year on the same tier as Chase's sophomore and junior years. Chase's senior year was ridiculous and he benefitted from having 2 NFL quality receivers (both of whom had >1300 yards receiving in 2008). It will be hard for Driphus to match Chase's 2008 because the offense is more run-based and because I doubt the current group of receivers is quite as outstanding as Dillard/Casey. That said, I don't think Driphus needs to match Chase's 2008 numbers to have an incredibly successful season. If Driphus can improve slightly on his numbers from last year, stay healthy, and manage the game, this year's team could be better.
