Here's to him finishing 2015 ranked a lot higher in these kinds of lists. Go Owls!

He has two bowl victories as a QB - I suspect there aren't many college QB's who could end up with three after this season. That would be a fun stat to achieve.

But where is Case Keenum? But that list does have plenty of laughs.

Chuckie K. at #28 and Kyle Allen at #22. Really? I do hope DJ sees this kind of stuff as he seems like kind of guy who would use it for motivation.

Other than Baylor or TCU, DJ would be starting QB at any program in the state .

I think both he and Ramon Flannigan still have eligibility left.

Driphus's passing and rushing numbers were solid in 2014, but I think his ball security is undervalued.

#46 Baker Mayfield was recruited by Rice, but ended up walking-on at Texas Tech and is now the starter for Oklahoma.

Obviously they know very little about Driphus. DJ's numbers last season compare favorably to Miami's Brad Kaaya, who they rank at 12. And we know DJ's running ability wasn't near 100%. DJ should be in top 25.

How do you compare Driphus to chase?

Comparing their respective junior years (and I don't remember the exact numbers), my recollection is that Chase had a few more passing touchdowns, but a lot more picks. Again on recollection, DJ's ball security and decision-making were better than Chase's at that point.
Chase made incredible improvement his senior year and posted the record setting performances that we all know. DJ has good weapons at his disposal, but I'm not sure the receivers are yet of the caliber of a Casey or Dillard. Might be, we'll see. I really think DJ can and will have a heck of a year.

Chase 2006 (So.):
Passing - 153/265 (57.7%), 1707 yards, 21 TD, 5 INT (only 8 games because of injury)
Rushing - 107 attempts for 481 yards (4.5 ypc), 4 TD

Chase 2007 (Jr.):
Passing - 300/508 (59.1%), 3377 yards, 29 TD, 16 INT
Rushing - 144 attempts for 535 yards (3.7 ypc), 8 TD

Chase 2008 (Sr.):
Passing - 326/490 (66.5%), 4119 yards, 44 TD, 7 INT
Rushing - 154 attempts for 693 yards (4.5 ypc), 12 TD

Driphus 2014 (Jr.):
Passing - 199/331 (57.7%), 2842 yards, 24 TD, 8 INT
Rushing - 121 attempts for 401 yards (3.3 ypc), 1 TD

I would put Driphus's junior year on the same tier as Chase's sophomore and junior years. Chase's senior year was ridiculous and he benefitted from having 2 NFL quality receivers (both of whom had >1300 yards receiving in 2008). It will be hard for Driphus to match Chase's 2008 because the offense is more run-based and because I doubt the current group of receivers is quite as outstanding as Dillard/Casey. That said, I don't think Driphus needs to match Chase's 2008 numbers to have an incredibly successful season. If Driphus can improve slightly on his numbers from last year, stay healthy, and manage the game, this year's team could be better.

I think both he and Ramon Flannigan still have eligibility left.

In the 1980's it felt like Lance McIlheney (sp?) was around forever at SMU as well. Maybe he just started all 4 years?

Mayfield played half a season and had four or five games where he three for more than 300 yards. That's one area for improvement, we had one game for over 300....La Tech does not count, anytime we lose by 40 stats out the window...
