We made it through the flooded streets of Ottawa hills. Near Waterville now and becoming dry.

RE: Stony Brook Game Thread
I just noticed something (I wasn't here for most of the actual game action Thursday so wasn't aware of what happened in terms of certain plays) and it doesn't seem to be mentioned in the game thread, though I might have missed it. After UT's second touchdown, the Rockets tried for two. What was the thinking there? I might be a little rusty on my knowledge of football strategy (which isn't all that great in the first place) but I don't see the reason for a 2-point try at that stage of the game. Can anybody straighten me out on this? Unless it was a broken play (because of a bad snap to the holder, for instance) this doesn't make sense to me.

Almost looked like a bad snap to me.

Thanks. If it was, then of course the 2-point try makes sense. Otherwise, I don't get it.

Yeah, I don't think the snap was bad. Wasn't handled cleanly by the holder. He picked it up and ran with it.

The holder seemed to mishandle the snap...it didn't appear to be a planned 2 point attempt.

I remember this kid from Georgia, a good find for UT, reported 3 star kicker

I was concerned about special teams this season. That bobbled hold was the only bad moment IMO from the "pre-season" game. He's a true freshman, and it will likely show at some point this season, but we're in good legs. Punting was also better than I remembered it from last season, and kickoffs--while not 10 yards into the endzone--were certainly adequate.

I thought the holder panicked. It appeared he had time to still get it down. Haven't seen a replay though.

Punting was GREAT! Not long but none of them needed to be. He made a beautiful sideways spin to pin SB deep on one and kept the ball inside the 20 but no touch backs three times.
