Toledo started slowly (and then the weather delay) but CMU, BSU, and Ohio had good games.
We'll know more tonight (rest of the Toledo game) and tomorrow (WMU vs. MSU).
I completely agree. I did not expect them all to come out looking this good.

Yeah, Central looks like they are going to be pretty good this year. Other than the couple cellar dwellers, the MAC looks like it is going to have a strong year!

Bob, that is my take away.
Assuming CMU is #5 in the MAC West (and not #6), they looked like a really good #5 team in a division of a G5 conference (i.e., MAC).
It is possible that BSU is #5 in the MAC West.
That said, we need to see if the MAC East is half decent...

FWIW, and it is O/T, but the B1G is 0 - 2 having faced two tough games to open their season.
Things will get better for the B1G as WMU and Kent are not to be confused with TCU and Utah.

Minnesota actually impressed me defensively. TCU is not the 2nd best team right now. They have...issues. That should have been a blowout because Minny still does not have great athletes on defense nor much on offense.

I am so impressed with the WMU athletic department! Not afraid to host MSU at Waldo! What an amazing atmosphere! What a gift for their students and alumni. This is sooooo great for the MAC!

From the Freep:
Say what you will, WMU knows how to throw a party.
And it turned into a day filled with explosive, dramatic moments. The wild tailgate party that spread across the WMU campus. The small, cramped intimate setting, as 30,885 packed into Waldo. The way the Broncos refused to fold on a hot, sweaty night. And the way the Spartans responded and closed out the victory
It was a tremendous showcase for the Broncos, not to mention coach P.J. Fleck, the young, rising star, who has done a fantastic job at WMU, bringing in talented players and building an impressive program.
"That was an electric special night," Fleck said. "That atmosphere fueled our players, I haven't seen much like that ever in the MAC, ever. And I've played in some incredibly big MAC games."

What you post IS true, but does it have any relevance to EMU?
Kind of like 'false equivalence' i.e., to describe what WMU happened and then imply it would happen with EMU. False equivalence: We are both Michigan-based MAC FB teams, with 30K stadiums, etc. etc.
The biggest difference is simple, very simple: WMU has a very competitive football team.
Toledo hosted OSU in Cleveland. They had a very competitive team.
We do not. Without a competitive team we would have what he had in men's basketball, a very small crowd, not even many Sparty fans in November 2012 (Thanksgiving weekend).

RE: Predict the MAC West
Well, it is finally here. To all of you going to Rynearson today: safe travels and lets hope the rain stays away for all of us. It would be nice to get a W today, maybe squeak one out against Army and then by some miracle win two MAC games; which would exceed my expectations. If we lose today, I fear we might be a 1-2 win team. I drove by the Stadium, it looks great. Hopefully the game will be filmed from the away side towards the home side, otherwise people are going to wonder if anyone is attending the game. I'm interested to see Shaq Vann at Running back, Anthony Brown at Rover, and Bell's progression at quarterback. If the offensive line is improved we should be competitive today. Hopefully Old Dominion forgot to do any type of pregame film work or maybe they will all come down with fumble-itis. Because this defense is going to be hard to watch in the trenches.
