I've been on his show once as a "MAC recruiting expert" (go ahead start laughing) and have called in several times.

First he knows nothing about the Mac, which gets irritating. Second, he gives strong opinions on proteins because he has no access to them, and gift soft opinions on college teams because he doesn't want to lose access.

During the murder scandal at CMU He was asking callers to call in with questions for Brian Kelly. I called and gave them the background on the magnificent seven killing a bar patron and told him he should ask Kelly about it.

He laughed and said, "I like my guests to come back." Meaning, no I can't ask that.
Soft journalism.

Then there's the endless promotion. Now it's time for a Miller light bathroom break.

He's one of those kind of people who is ill informed, lazy, pompous, with no self awareness. I got XM just to avoid Huge.

That's an understatement. He gushes over his interviewees so much he practically gives them a hand-job during every lead-in to each question.

"Now Jim I know you're not going to give a straight answer to my question but I'm going to ask anyway because you're the greatest coach who has ever lived, but who will be your starting QB this fall? And would you like a tug or a blow with that question?"

It's not a tug or a blow, it's "Jimmy would you like a Branns steak house Tug courtesy of my good friend Tommy Brann, or would you prefer a nice blow from our good friends at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt Pleasant where you can go back stage with the Oak Ridge Boys just by entering the Miller Light Sweepstakes this Friday at Fifth Third Park. Dear Broncos,
Does he really spell his name; meaning large? Everyone can spell their name as they please, but most people I know with that name spell it Hugh. Just asking.

His name is Bill Simonson. He calls himself "Huge."

He is on WTKA 1050 AM 3-6 PM in your area.

OH! Okay, cool. Phew! I thought he ran a massage parlor or something. I certainly wouldn't want to walk into one of those to see him cracking his knuckles, ready to give massages!

Dear Kenneth,

He calls himself that, yes. It's his radio "nick" name. I've listened to him when radio channel surfing, and there's not any great song playing at the time -- and have heard him. I've only caught chunks of what he says. IMO, what sets the stage for many anti-fans is his voice + radio name. He has a "huge" defining voice, where I could see eyes rolling once that's coupled with anything "ridiculous" that one thinks the radio host is saying. So IMO, his on-radio "presence" with his voice + name will make a lot of lovers & haters. BUT, I've only caught 5-15 minute chunks about every couple months, so I don't have much to go on, but I can see how people could easily start to be turned on or off by him after his presence sets in.
