Well, in this case it was about his employer, so it's not like he was fired for having an opinion on Obamacare or immigration.

Except that the comment was made when he was a fan of the team and not an employee. Very petty move.
I don't necessarily disagree with you, but I can also see it from their point of view. The job is a pretty high profile public facing position, not the guy making hot dogs in the concession stand.
