Would be a heck of a time for:
2009-like repeat

(minus the coaching staff leaving)

If ever UC needed to hit a homerun....its THIS year.

We have the teams (fb/hoops) to make some noise nationally....

I love my Alma Mater.

Go Cats!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peach Bowl victory and a Final Four run sure would be nice. I don't think either are outside the realm of possibility.

This really is a big year because next year we could lose our QB & most of the WRs. We need to get big wins (BYU, Miami) and win the conference.

This year has a theoretical chance to be the best basketball/football combo year in the past 50 years in UC sports. Not for each individual sport but combined.

Football team is favored to win the league which means a very good chance at the access bowl. Basketball team returns everyone from a team that made the tourney and gave the nations best/second best team a solid run.

Best combo year I can think of (at least in my 26-year-old lifetime) is 2011-12, when we won 10 games in football, including the Liberty Bowl, and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in basketball. Have we ever upped that? Basketball was nothing during the BCS years, and football was always down till 2006-ish.

Could be.

To date I think the best combo year would have been 2011-12. The Football team finished ranked in the Top 25 (10-3) and won the Liberty Bowl vs. Vandy. The basketball program finished in the Top 25 and made it to the Sweet Sixteen.

Hopefully our programs at least match those results. Would love to see both marks exceeded.

^ Yep.

To answer your question, we never had a dual run like we did in 2011-12.

In 1950 I think we won the MAC in both football and basketball.

EDIT: I looked it up. We also won the MAC in basketball in 1949, the same year we won the Glass Bowl. But it was so different back then you can't compare it. Basketball was not a big deal in 1949.

I knew of this which is why I said the past 50 years. It was different back then but those were great accomplishments. There was only a handful of bowls.
