And now more Chanticleer already in progress.
Count you blessing, P-Man that he also may have wanted to push you in front of a streetcar.
He was welcome to try and move all 300 lbs :)
But it does simply never cease to amaze me. To cool to root for the school you attend.I

Did you ever think maybe he has a good reason for wearing a Georgia shirt? Perhaps, a family member played or attended in Athens or he has rooted for the Bulldogs since childhood.
I wear Army gear all the time at my school. Heck, I don't even attend our football games on Saturday, I prefer to watch real college football on TV.

To them, that symbol only stands for a handful of Saturdays a year.
To me, as an alumni, it means much more than just a handful of Saturdays. To me it stands for the friends I've meet, the alumni I network with, the fraternity brothers I share a bond with, and of course an undergraduate path that lead me into the career I'm in today. The memories and experiences gained from being intimately apart of an institution will be treasured forever. Each time I come back, its as if I am coming home. More importantly, it lead to the family I have today.
Each time I wear my colors, it is a symbol of pride and what made me who I am today.
I was very happy to see several hundred Panther Head tshirts walking around. Is really awesome to walk campus in the Fall especially in comparison to twenty five years back.

Hell, I think it's night and day compared to five years ago, so I can only imagine what the dark ages were like. I already had a student tell me this week that she's disappointed they don't have plans in place to bus students to Statesboro (cue the GS noise). That's a feeling that's taken time to develop.

1) Childhood is over.
2) If Uncle Joe played for his own university/team, he will most likely understand someone having to commit fully to their own university/team...or at the very least not being rude on their own campus. If not, Uncle Joe is a loser.

+1.
The excuses are:
(1) Ive rooted for them my whole life. I just cant give that up.

(2) family member went/played there
.......
I just feel sorry for them.
Eh, I can't go too far with it, as my wife went to Auburn and I still wear AU gear sometimes, even on the GSU campus. They had my college football loyalty before we got a team, and I'm not gonna pretend that it just went away. I'm still a Panther first and foremost. (Flame away, y'all, it's not gonna bother me.)
I can require that my students put away UGA gear when they're at a GSU event for extra class credit, though. One of the perks of being able to do WeverTF you want (within reason) as an instructor.

Lucky for you the class you teach makes forcing them to go to games somewhat legitimate. I'm teaching molecular cell biology; the best I can do is tell them office hours are at the game.

Childhood is not an excuse. There are a lot of us on here that grew up rooting for the big school because that's what our family and friends did. That doesn't mean we still root for them now. Your childhood ends once you start college.

You can't? Many stAte profs will refuse to let anyone wearing another school's colors into class, and the really cool ones offer bonus points for attending a football game.
I've always understood that a college professor can pretty much do whatever the hell they want when it comes to grading. I once got 50 bonus points on an exam from a professor because I traveled to Oxford to watch us play Ole Miss and he saw me there. And that was a class in my degree field

Our student government started having exchange days every semester where the students could bring their "other school" items for Texas State T-shirts. They are a great success. As little as 5 years ago it was common to see tops from the big school to the north in my classes, ( and yes I give them grief about it) but now I rarely see them. Of course, moving to FBS and creating our own identity has certainly helped also.
