I think Temple's football and basketball uni's are sharp....I like the patterns along the sides -the little squares. Reminds me a bit of the old UC Jumpman uniforms which were the bomb.

Is the 30 million (or UC's 47) the total value of the deal (cash and gear) or is UA paying that one top of providing all the gear?

I thought we had a $3 million dollar deal years ago with adidas? I'm assuming Nike is in that ballpark? I'd love to move to UA at some point. Downside with UA your athletics turn into a giant billboard for them. They want their logo on everything. Behind the hoop, chairs that players sit on, etc...
Hopefully this is good news for everyone with ESPN exposure. Worth more than our tv deal...lol

Yep, that blows my mind.
This is one area where AAC teams can really separate themselves financially from the other G5 conferences, except maybe the MWC.
This may be a lingering deal from when we were conference-less, but we (Charlotte) are a Nike school. We get free apparel, but no money.
WKU just renewed a deal with hometown company Russel Athletics yesterday worth $700,000/yr. Not bad coin, but considerably less than $3 million/yr obviously.

Tier Rights for Specific sports? .
If I had it my way
UCF Soccer would go with Adidas, recruits would go goo-goo
Just as Nike would be loved by Track and Field / Basketball
And now UA for Football

RE: Temple signs $30 million deal with Under Armor
The details of these deals are often hard to find, but the big $ seem to come from initial deals rather than renewals. They are often incentive laden (bowl/NCAA appearances) and back loaded as well...so much in year one, more in two, three... In some instances, like Memphis and Boise, a coaching/conference change can affect dollar value. For Boise I think it was @$50,000 while it was more costly ($200,000 cash drop) for Memphis. Best I can tell, Memphis is back up to a $500,000 min. cash payment per year with the opportunity to earn more. Based on a TBR approval meeting video, the move to the AAC also got them more $, how much more IDK. IIRC, they said it was the 2nd best apparel contract in the state behind (WAY behind) the Vols. Seems like they discussed contract language change re: uniforms and the use of "stock," but I'm pushing my memory here. The Tigers have definitely gotten away from the standard college uni with the stripes.

Will be interesting to see where this goes. In the Philly region, especially the suburbs, stores carry a ton more PSU gear than Temple's. As part of this deal Under Armor is putting a retail store on campus.
