2015 Rice Football season predictions
A place to memorialize how inept we all are at predicting the future! I'll go with 10-2 and an appearance in the CUSA title game.

Wagner - W
Texas - W
N. Texas - W
Baylor - L
WKU - L
FAU - W
Army - W
LaTech - W
UTEP - W
So. Miss - W
UTSA - W
Charlotte - W

Rice doesn't lay any eggs in 2015, but does have one scare against an unassuming CUSA opponent. Rice gets a close upset win over Texas (after Texas beats Notre Dame).

WKU ends the regular season as a top-25 team, but does not win CUSA East after Marshall beats them in the regular season finale. Marshall, against a joke of a schedule, finishes the regular season schedule with only 1 loss, a surprising defeat @MTSU. Rice wins CUSA West and again wins the hosting tie-breaker over Marshall, because of Marshall's schedule (despite Rice's 2 losses). It will be very close and Marshall fans will again whine. Marshall again gets destroyed by Rice during the CUSA Championship game.

Boise State is pretty good, but Rice gets the Access Bowl slot, with losses to two top-25 teams (17-ponit loss to top-10 Baylor and narrow loss to WKU) and victories over two top-25 teams (narrow over top-20 Texas and large over Marshall).

Go Rice!

(Of course, I hope Rice wins every game! But WKU scares me and I'm trying to emphasize that. Realistically, it is probably still more likely Rice wins at home over WKU than on the road against Texas. And if I really had to bet money ... I'd probably go with 9-3 instead of 10-2, but where is the fun in that?!?)

RE: 2015 Rice Football season predictions
My feeling is that the safe bet is this:

Wagner - W
Texas - L
N. Texas - W
Baylor - L
WKU - L
FAU - W
Army - W
LaTech - L
UTEP - W
So. Miss - W
UTSA - W
Charlotte - W

8-4(6-2) conference. This is what Stephanie from the Chronicle predicts. It would be an OK season, but not the step forward that many of us are looking for. Bowl win at the end would also help, but as a Rice fan, I want more so I'll go:

Wagner - W
Texas - W
N. Texas - W
Baylor - L
WKU - W
FAU - W
Army - W
LaTech - W
UTEP - W
So. Miss - W
UTSA - W
Charlotte - W

11-1(8-0) and Conference champs with a very strong case for the Access Bowl. That would be an incredible season and better than the Conference Championship in 2013. I don't mind looking stupid with my Owl-colored glasses on. In reality, I hope for 1 or 2 wins better than the 8-4, to show that we can beat one of the 4 teams that are considered "better" than us this year.

Hopefully we can cap that by beating Hawaii in the New Mexico bowl. Or vice versa.

I'll say I took the 8 to 1 odds for the Owls to claim the CUSA championship.

Not really. But, of course, people will say that every year.

Someone on the board has to be Debbie Downer I guess ... I'll say 7-5, 5-3.

Agree on the record, but I think we head to New Mexico (I think Southern Miss will be bowl eligible and go to New Orleans).

Very few players in their 30's this year.

I think I count 4 new starters on offense (and that's counting Reue as a returning starter though he's injured right now), and 8 new starters on defense (though several of them were rotation players). That's an above average amount of turnover.
