OT - Article on Beaty at Kansas
Got this article about Beaty from Ricefootball.net

http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2015/aug/29...an-kansas/

A really interesting part related to Beaty's time here. I didn't know that Bailiff was down over 30 players at one point. No wonder it seemed like we had a huge dropoff after the 2 deep. Did anyone here know it was so bad that they couldn't run a full scrimmage?

Quote:The situation at Rice, where Beaty coached wide receivers from 2006-07 and served as offensive coordinator in 2010, was so dire that Bailiff was forced to play portions of spring practices 11 on 10. The number of scholarship players he inherited was in the 50s and because of a lack of depth at defensive end, the Rice offensive coaches asked one of their tackles to step to air and block nobody during certain drills and team scrimmages.

That was pretty common knowledge when he first took over. I remember talking to an offensive lineman who told me he was 1st, 2nd and 3rd team.

Toad did no recruiting since he knew he was leaving for his "dream job".

I'm glad there is finally some hard evidence to prove just how much the team was horribly lacking in talent/warm bodies. The Toad left the cupboard bare.
