Yeah, I agree. The heightened sensitivity doesn't help either.

Note to Letterman. To clarify that guy didn't send me an email it was a PM. I just couldn't go down that road. He has 5 kids and was living on a military budget.

Got it.

I think I may have saw that same PM myself at sometime during the course of the last year.

Interesting. At any rate, let's take this offline. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm getting threatening PM's now as well. I feel bad, this guy thought these sidebars were about him. Outside of anonymous board ID's, I have no idea who he is for that matter.

It's really not about him, I meant the other poster, but you can see how these things get confused on web boards, not only does tone get confusing, but pronouns are a challenge for "some of us" (me, cough cough).

So you were talking about GL? I thought you were talking about someone entirely different. Not sure how poor EA got thrown in the middle of this.

I always liked EA. very knowledgable bbal poster. You two need to kiss and make up. I hate to see these kinds of misunderstandings, but tone rarely translates on social media.

Well if you remember, I owned him when we talked Tigers and Miggy playing 3rd. He's never forgiven me, that probably explains the hostile, threatening tone.

I'm sure it'll blow over.

Sure hope that GL guy will still post here, basketball season is right around the corner!

I'm so tired of these thinly veiled "threats" and sophomoric baiting attempts!

I put him on ignore. Stop the silliness.

Now that puts the project on a hold while you have to discover the source of the water and repair that before you can complete construction.

Actual construction projects take longer than what you may observe on TV, so I can empathize with the admisistration, coaches and players in this regard. I've said it before our basketball facitilities are amongst the worst in the MAC. It is amazing that our coaches, mens basketball, women basketball and volleyball can field competitive squads.

All Bronco fans need to "Row the Boat" and we need to do a better job.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTb.

Well, it may not have been stylish, but WMU did have a gym on East Campus that could and should have been renovated. Watching the video in the story makes me sick for reasons beyond the gym.

What have you heard regarding the floor coming along? Anything new today?

Gosh, Gull Lake took off too? 04-bolt

This is all too weird. I was hoping to ask him about his id name, how he decided to use "Gull Lake".

RTLett, I have not questioned or heard about the progress on the floor. If I run into someone this weekend I'll try and remember to ask what is happening.

Because Gull Lake is one of the most beautiful inland lakes in the State of Michigan. No, I do not own property on it, but would if I could afford it.

Gull Lake is also in Kalamazoo County, not far from WMU, and many WMU alumni do own property on it, including several friends.

Thought using it as an ID would be different and appropriate since it is so close to WMU.

Sorry you seem to take offense to it.

Not at all, I love it there. You would be amazed the connections I have on that lake, as well as how I'm connected, I thought/hoped that you were actually one of them.

See what I mean about web boards and tone? Glad we avoided pronoun trouble this time. 07-coffee3

Thank you SIR. I have to give credit where credit is due, they're pushing through an extraordinary situation for a D1 basketball program. Haven't heard a peep as far as complaints.

RE: Our players can't get into a gym
I was in Florida back in May and it was down at the pool talking to a lady who lived on Gull Lake. She was pretty lit up and was yammering about Gollake gossip.

She tells a story about one couple who would party every night during the summer with total disregard for the neughbors who complained regularly. The wife, who had never worked a day in her life told one complaining neughbor that if she didn't like it her husband would be happy to buy her property. One neighbor who had complained to everyone on the lake about the rude party animals finally gave up and sold their multimillion dollar home just to get some piece and quiet. The irony was they never complained to the party animals because they were business associates and they odidn't want to lose their business.

So while us average Joes don't bake cookies for the neighbors at Xmas because they have a noisy dog, the GL rich get revenge by selling their million dollar home and quietly moving away, lest the lose a precious client.

Unreal.

I can't believe a lady would throw her weight around that way, "saying my husband would buy it from you". 03-puke

I agree with chip on this one! Seems to be. Whoever yells the loudest gets want! This isn't just men's basketball either. Poor volleyball (another proven successful program) can't play at home. They have to play a ridiculous amount on the road! Terrible situation for their senior atheletes. Not a great way to end your college athletic career! I'm happy to have a new floor but also know it wouldn't have happened if it wasn't a serious safety issue! This floor should have been replaced years ago. How many turfs has football seen? Every sport besides football is being neglected. Shane, Colleen and Hawk have found a way to win with the worst facilities in the Mac but this can't continue forever, not with success! They are all in desperate need of facility upgrades and a practice facility. I wish someone with some power would listen and see this and really work on raising the money. Trying to raise money for program necessities cannot be these coaches full time job.

RE: Our players can't get into a gym
Our problem with fund raising is it is all or nothing.

When a high school program needs money they don't wait for the richest person in the community to pony it up. They fundraisers from a grassroots standpoint, get things moving, and then a few people with deep pockets generally get on board and pave the way to finish it off.

Our fund raising entity would rather wine, dine, and pander to a few well healed donors than to run a grass roots fund raiser.
