You should know the answer to this beyond the fact they like to travel it would be a bad weekend for a meeting in NOLA. NFL Saints and Texans today, 10th anniversary of Katrina killer storm this weekend, hit on 08/29/05. Lots of memorials, celebrations, and reunions.

13-6, Houston. 3rd Q

Let's go by your list:

Mountaineers - Not unique to college football. WVU also has the mountaineers, so (to me) you can't be the best unless you're unique.
Red Wolves - There are other wolves in college football, but not RED wolves. Half a point.
Vandals - I'm sorry, I just dig the name. It's unique (you have other marauding types, but no Vandals), and it's a cool mascot.
Warhawks - To me, it's a variation on another bird (eagle, Falcon, etc) and therefore disqualified by best name.
Ragin Cajuns - TOTALLY unique and definitively recognizable to the area. Solid mascot, though I'm not a fan of the chili pepper manifestation of it. I'd love to see more of a caricature of a boudreaux type (but again, that's a personal preference). And some bluegrass playing with it.
Chanticleers - I hate it. Chin Balls. Another bird. Just doesn't work for me.

Therefore it's down to vandals and Ragin Cajuns.

I give the nod to the Vandals because to me they are more fear inspiring than a giant chili pepper. Change the actual mascot? You got a fight on your hands, boys!

Still hard to believe the 11 school reps all fly to Dallas to do nothing. If no one is to be added why bother with a meeting for that?

It would seem the consensus was to add at least 1 before the decision to have a meeting right?

Look at it this way: (and this is purely for example) Georgia Southern REALLY wants NMSU to join, but Texas State, the Cajuns, & stAte don't want it. Georgia Southern calls for an official meeting to try and press the hand of one of the three to bring in the beloved NMSU.

They get everyone in a meeting, Georgia Southern is handing out drinks, suggesting a rousing game of 3 man, generally being a happy guy (or girl, whatever). The plan is to get Texas State's rep drunk (we all know Texas State folks LOVE to throw back the booze) and then convince them to cross over. They figure with the whole process of getting everyone to one site, SOMEONE will change their vote, and hopefully it will be Texas State who will do ANYTHING in their drunken stupor to get done with the meeting and get some waffles.

But wait! What Georgia Southern WASN'T counting on is that Texas State has been playing drinking games for DECADES, and knows how to hold his (or her) liquor. The vote comes through, Texas State doesn't change their vote, and you're still stuck at a stalemate.

And everyone flies home with a raging hangover.

Crap. Told you guys we should have tried that UTA chick instead of the Texas State dude.

Look for the teal smoke.

I am down let's get it done! Plus I think teal and black go good together. If they aren't that good at least they would look decent. Chanticleers is just a rooster. Doesn't Univ. of South Carolina already has a rooster for a mascot. At least it's a Fable rooster, and from the looks of it very unique mascot.

If they are added who yall think who has the best nickname in the Sunbelt? It would have to be between Mountaineers, Ragin Cajuns, Red Wolves, Vandals, Warhawks and Chanticleers. I would have to choose Ragin Cajuns but I am biased.

Just saying you have to consider all the details when adding another member to the conference.
I'd say it's between Ragin' Cajuns and Vandals at the moment, but the Ballchineans (look at Coastal's logo) would give all a run for their money in the best nickname department.

Did you just give a Spaceballs reference?

Unless you're flying around the leader of North Korea, not sure if that will work. Don't know many AD's or school presidents that want to ride around in a 152.

I'm well aware what a 152 is used for. How big is the aviation school at EKU, they could replace the loss of MTSU flight school.
