Ben Stein nails it.
"Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured...but not everyone must prove they are a citizen." Now add to this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."
His comments are about health insurance..but..it also applies to auto insurance. I pay a premium for "uninsured motorists".

Ben Stein is a brilliant man in his own right and the son of a brilliant father (Herbert Stein). I'm always interested to hear what he has to say.

Ben Stein also thinks that Intelligent Design is actual science...
Granted, Stein makes a good point about how much harder the gov't is cracking down on uninsured Americans vs illegal immigrants. But...BOTH PARTIES support illegal immigration. Business owners in the southwest in particular enjoys lower labor rates because of the illegal status, lefties see the opportunity to secure extra votes and the illegals help to maintain the larger budgets for those gov't agencies that work with the illegals in the first place - like welfare for example.
Does anyone seriously think that the gov't and the politicians actually want to curb illegal immigration? LOL!

Those currently in leadership? Clearly not. But ask Cantor how that's working out for him. In line for being next Speaker and whoopped in the primary by a rookie from a little private college.
Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'

There have been a lot of diverse people in positions of power since the amnesty program during the Reagan administration. That's over 30 years ago I believe. I admire your hope, but I highly doubt you are right. Because what makes today so different than the last 30 years?

Necessity.
We're going broke in a hurry being the babysitter or neighborhood Mom for the entire world.
For the first time in our history more people than not think their kids will grow up and be worse off than they are.
Is this America? (not you, necessarily, open question) Is this the same great Country I grew up in?
If not, why not? Whats changed and why? How and why?

He has a point here, although I'd like the borders to be much more open anyway which would render it kind of moot anyway.
