ESPN - The Courage Game
ESPN is dedicating an entire day -- and big prime time advertising -- to a piece about a gay 12 year old lacrosse player and his "struggles coming out".

I'll ignore for a moment the very questionable merits of a 12 year old knowing he is gay a half decade before he can even legally have sex.

What the **** is this doing on a sports channel? I hate ESPN for many reasons ... but it's increasing political bent of a decidedly "Hartford, CT" flavor is chief among them.

Seriously? So, you didn't KNOW you were straight when you were 12?

Ummm, ok. It's not that The kids can consent, either way, but I definitely knew which team I was batting for when I was 12.....

But, if you are standing tall for the "haven't decided yet," ok... FIGHT THE POWER!!!!

Get em' young. Take the ones who are confused and put them in your camp. Take the ones not confused and shame them into being allies.

But who does not love the irony coming from the "privacy" crowd here... "It's none of your business what goes on in my bedroom. So let me shove it in your kids face.

At 12, I was worried about my next tennis tournament and increasing the velocity of my fastball. I might have oogling girls with my eyes by then I suppose, but the idea of sexual orientation was nowhere in the picture. For me, girls became interesting at 15 and I hit for the cycle at 17. But 12? *REALLY?*

Even the ones who are very gay probably don't understand anything other than they are a little different. That's one thing that really annoys me about this nonsense. They are treating pre-puberty kids as adults. It makes no sense.

RE: ESPN - The Courage Game
I don't know if the couple who was encouraging their 5 year old girl who thought she was a boy was discussed on here. It was all over the TV. People thought it was great.

The only thing that was great about it was it simply wasn't possible for the 5 year old to be less intelligent and have less common sense than her parents. So it was good that they weren't emphasizing their judgment over a 5 year old.

The sad part is there is a group of Americans that eat this stuff up. Honestly, I think most folks are watching for the 'freak' factor. Eyeballs do not mean support.

I remember a buddy of mine telling me he thought he had a girl pregnant the summer between 8th grade and 9th. I was mortified. Never even thought about a girl that way. To this day I remember him telling me that and the feeling I had. It was like YOU put WHAT WhERE! Never even crossed my mind til I was a junior in high school. So weird.

Well, you were way behind the game. You were probably already thought of as "Questionable-sexual", but most of us gave you the benefit of the doubt. Personally, I wasn't worried about my sexuality at that age because I was in the "norm." But for you and those that are not in the norm, I have reserved judgement. In retrospect, I see that is not the Christian thing to do, but, **** it, I gave up Christianity long ago when I saw it being used to put everyday people, such as yourself, down. I hope you are someday able to come to terms with the fact that you are not what everyone thinks you should be, but exactly what you are. And I hope you learn to love that about yourself.

Peace Brother. Let it settle. You will be a much happier person.

Yep and for the extremist, the poor little girl that was a victim to this attitude should have to, not only bear the child, but also raise it for the next 18-25 years.

**** him, and **** his ilk!
