Memphis Sadness. Almost like they wanted it to fail. No hype leading up...middle of a college football Saturday. So much fail

they had to put it at a time where it is your die hards only. Anything else would have been a circus.

Terrible... As a former alumni, this is just sad... Memphis is full of fair weather fans... It's always been that way... I am not surprised a bit.

Was it even publicized? Yeah, I know Memphis is in the midst of football mania, but you'd think folks on this forum would have been aware of it and posted something.

Like another poster said, I thought it had been cancelled.

Memphis is the most apathetic city in the entire US. Look at the Red Birds. When Autozone was new and the team playing well they challenged Sacramento for the attendance title of minor league baseball. After the newness wore off and it was no longer the "in thing" the city ended up having to buy the stadium and the Cardinal had to buy the team to keep it afloat.

Can we finally put to bed your stance that the MAJORITY support Pastner.

Don't blame the city, blame the product.

To be fair the poor attendance probably had more to do with the poor management of the time, date in middle of football craze and light promotion of it rather than anger at the coach. I just heard about it yesterday and some people I know were confused that they heard that madness basketball was canceled back yonder. Don't get me wrong, it probably wasn't going to be 10,000 there if it was heavily promoted but there probably would have been a little better if the management was done better

It's a shame more didn't show up. My family had a great time today.

But it wasn't the best promoted event. My dad thought it was cancelled too. Definitely made for getting all the autographs easier. Players were super friendly.

Just wish more people had shown up to support them.

Well, they HAD cancelled it, and then got some backlash, and rebranded it. But my impression was that they really didn't want people showing up because they thought that Pastner was going to generate a lot of negativity.

The whole thing was handled poorly.
