Wasn't Pastner's initial contract for around $800k then he signed the JJ, CC, TB, WB, AB class and got a nice raise (deserved at that point IMO) then he had the 31-5 (19-0) season that resulted in the 6 seed and got another new contract / raise ( I recall raising my eyebrows at that one BUT did not think it was the worst move ever).
So we really ended up going 'cheap' with Pastner and then very quickly overpaid him based on perceived recruiting greatness and his potential to grow up as a floor coach......
The big boys freaked out that he might have left for USC.
Is Mike Rose still considered a big boy? Proof that you can be smart and successful, but a dummy at the same time?
Let's put it this way, if he ever stops donating they WILL notice.

I got nothing against Mike Rose. Referred to him as both smart and successful. However, I still think writing that letter made him look foolish.

Let's just say this...I could probably buy a really nice car or a small house if I kept all the money that I've paid the university over the last 20 years. I know that pales in comparison to Rose and many others, but I've done my part.
