I'd hand the Democrats the White House the next 4 years to burn the GOP establishment to the ground wholesale.

Trump is the new GOP. If he doesn't win a new Trump party will form.

Me too, but Graham and the other empty suits complaining about Trump are the ones that created the problem.

I'd hand the Democrats the White House the next 4 years to burn the GOP establishment to the ground wholesale.

I'd rather not hand it to Bernie Sanders or Liz Warren, because I'm not sure we could recover from either. We can recover from Obama because he didn't get much of his agenda done, health insurance "reform" and mea culpas in lieu of foreign policy being about the extent of it. If Sanders or Warren actually got done the things they talk about, we could be done as an economy--Argentina at best, Zimbabwe at worst.

But this current version of the republican party is so screwed up that it might be worth taking even that chance. When you lose an election that you thought you were going to win in 2012, and you are so concerned that you do an "autopsy" of the results, and then you lead off for 2016 by doing everything that the autopsy told you not to do, one has to question your sanity.

Stupid party versus evil party.

The GOP should just split. The right wing has made them lose the last two elections.

Instead of Republicans would those be Trumpians? Trumpsters? Trumpeteers?

Which wing are you taking about?

1) The Plutocrat - no taxes/no regulations/no protections wing/expanding government payments to help big business wing?
2) The Liberanarchitarian - no government/no military overseas wing?
3) The Neocon - subrogate US foreign policy to Israel/go after 'dem Mooslems' wing?
4) The Jesus take the wheel wing?
5) The I hate non-white folk anti-immigration wing?

--

With the rise of Trump, the Plutocrats can't buy the guy, the Libertarians can't trust him, the Neocons don't like him, the Jesus freaks will tire of his sexist BS, and all we're left with is the 2015 version of the George Wallace voter.

--

And Trump is just such an a*sshole that he'll never be able to unburn those bridges. He's a bully and its obvious.

He also might (gasp) be the nominee. And that would be a disaster for the GOP.

My prediction....Trump wins AL, MS, LA, ARK, TN, KY, WV, SC, OK, NE (2 EVs), ND, SD, KS, WY, ID, and MT. Texas would be 50-50 (remember that only 10% of eligible Mexican American voters in Texas voted in 2012 or 14). Dems would take the Senate too.

The reason there are not more political parties is because no factions in either party want to be the first to split because it pretty much just guarantees you won't win any national elections.

Only way we will see more than two parties is if they grow through a grassroots movement, starting at the local level, then gaining influence at the state level, and finally becoming nationally relevant.

That's how out of touch he is. Ending the GOP is not a negative to conservative voters! He has no idea.

Woop! There it is!

Not a Trump fan, but I guess you can count me in as one of the "crazies".

And how did Ross Perot and 8 years of Clinton and the threat of Hillary help this country?

Your cut off your nose to spite your face group also gave us Jimmy Carter. The Reaganites sat on their hands in 1976.

RE: Lindsey Graham almost made me switch to Donald Trump
Any type of split of the Republican Party will give us a Democratic majority for half a century. They will likely get 2/3 majorities in the Senate and close in the House. And the far left who dominates among the party insiders will have no constraints.
