Predict who wrote this,

"Have to agree here! Many UC fans have tried to argue that Cincinnati and Louisville were close to one another on the expansion list...some even argued if UC had expanded Nippert a few years earlier that we'd be in over Louisville...complete lunacy!

Louisville was a home run addition, IMO. They have a top 5-10 basketball program of all-time with a ton of recent success and 22,000 fans per game. In football we've seen them show up on the big stage downing Florida, beating the U back in C-USA, etc. The potential has always been there and now they are expanding the football stadium again.

It was never really close between the two! Louisville is a national brand, Cincinnati is still trying to get there...the closest we were to that was with Huggins in the mid-90's!"

DSLAAR, wrote that. Do the exclamations look similar? !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares?

Edit: Oh, and he's not wrong. Louisville, if for no other reason than the huge donor base (Hi, Papa!) and commitment to athletics, was a great addition to the ACC.

Can someone explain the kind of crazy this exhibits? I just do not understand why someone would go to these lengths to troll.

You care. Over the last 20 year not much difference between Ville and Cincy
in Football and BBall. Even if UC wanted to build a new football stadium, 20 years ago, there is no real estate to do it. And Bearcats#1 made multiple mistakes in his anti UC post on the ACC board.

I couldn't care less who DSLAAR is and fail to see the need to start a thread with him as the topic.

As to UC vs. UL, which could have been posted in the other thread, there are significant differences off the field. UL has had the money and commitment to invest heavily in their programs over the years. For awhile, UC was not willing to do so.

When it comes to expansion, on the field success is secondary to a number of other things on each conference's checklist.

Louisville basketball is on a whole different level. Since 1995 they've made 17 NCAA tournaments, 1 National Championship, 3 Final Four's, 4 Elite Eight's, and 2 Sweet 16's. They won the Big East (toughest league arguably of all-time) regular season title twice and the tournament twice --in a row btw.

In the same time period, Cincinnati has made 15 NCAA tournaments, 1 Elite Eight and 2 Sweet 16's.

There isn't much of a comparison in terms of success as a program during that period. Cincinnati needs to start winning big games on a national stage in BOTH football and basketball before making such comparisons.
