......go SMU?

That is the rough part. The talent is there to work with, but I now gotta question the coaching. The Offense should be better than what we saw vs Duke and special teams are still a disturbing concern. I wanna chalk part of this up to Duke though. They seem to have our number. They've really beaten us badly in the recent past and this game may very well have been one where this team just has our number.

Tulane just looks like they have such a long way to go in all phases of the game. I don't think you guys are a year or two away either. Going to take some serious rebuilding...starting with culture/expectations, etc. Your program is a total rebuild right now. Not flaming, just giving my two cents.

It's not total rebuild. If it was, we'd lose 57-7.There's talent on board. Some really nice players. It's young and depth isnt where we need it to be. We need some of those better players to develop and we really need some upperclassmen who can lead the way. A couple play-makers would help as well. I think the coach(es) is the bigger issue. It's one thing to have a nice core of talent and another to get them to play up to it, or to know how to plan and execute a way to make us more competitive. Our current coach has always had the feel, to me, like he's learning on the job.

their D pretty much shut down duke for 3 quarters....
their offense was horrifc but in other games have shown signs of life..tualne isnt a total rebuild.. actaully making a bowl this year isnt out of the question if they can find semblance of an offense

cincy offense looked horrific to start the year 2 years ago..could barely score on horrible teams and finished as one of the better offenses in the league with kay

true on the UC part but for the record...Kay was playing hurt (and didn't tell anybody) and once he healed up they started to click. Just saying.

Sorry, but I think the biggest deficit Tulane has is at HC.

This.

The even bigger problem is that you have an idiot at AD who cannot hire a decent football coach.

He's not an idiot or a moron; he's a PARASITE. He knows he's a cancer but values his paycheck more than anything else. The AD must be fired BEFORE any changes are made; the new AD must sweep out the old rot.

Fire Dickson NOW.

What in the world were people who thought this expecting? Duke was easy money. A team that went 9-3 in the AAC last year was not losing to Tulane regardless of who graduated. Better roster and much better coaching staff.

This board is not known for its realism.

Really? You think so?
