Are those going to be on the off-air channels on U-Verse?

Looks like it's replacing GamePlan with up to eight channels available via the sports package.

I was asking because they show the Premier League Extra Time games on those channels, and I figured that's where the ESPN3 games would go.

I haven't seen anything specific released from providers yet...just the ESPN info and twitter conjecture...where the GamePlan info is from.

Much better than just ESPN-3 alone. The exposure just keeps getting better of the AAC. That said, the big winners might be the MAC and Sunbelt who are loaded with ESPN 3 games.

There was a charge for the Game Plan Package. Will there be a charge to get the ESPN 3 game package or will it be free and included in your service?

Could be, as far as "biggest" winner. But, it is reassuring that ALL available AAC games are being picked up vs. one SBC and no MAC games (FCS games are getting selected over some SBC/MAC options).

I think so, but you'll need to consult with them.
‏@hojolax
@mattsarz the way I read that it is just part of your direct tv subscription - no extra payment required - correct?

I have ATT U-Verse sport package and has Watch ESPN, which also ESPN3 events. You probably have it too, if you have the Sports package. 04-cheers

RE: ESPN3 soon to be available on TV
More info:

From Matt Sarzyniak
Quote:ESPN has folded ESPN GamePlan & Full Court into a single package called ESPN College Extra, which you can read about here. My TV provider is U-Verse and they will not be offering it in HD and I'm not sure if ESPN is offering it in HD, so if they are not and you thought this was going to be some sort of breakthrough, you may be disappointed.

EDIT: Maybe its in HD after all: https://forums.att.com/t5/Features-and-H...-p/4301698

As for the cost of the package, please contact your pay TV provider. U-Verse says they'll offer ti subscribers in select base packages plus those subscribing to their sports package. From the providers listed in the release, or specifically not listed, Comcast/Xfinity, Cablevision and Dish may not be carrying it on September 5th. Again, contact your pay TV provider. They'll know.

From At&T Forums
Quote:The message below was posed earlier this month over on the ACE's forum:

Dear Valued AT&T U-verse Sports Enthusiast,

ESPN will no longer be offering ESPN GamePlan for college football or ESPN FULL COURT for college basketball. However, the programming that was included in those packages will be available on ESPN College Extras, a new channel launching later this summer.

ESPN College Extras will be on channels 614-621 and 1614-1621 (HD) and will be included in U400, U450, U450 Latino and the Sports Package.

We hope you enjoy the upcoming college football and basketball seasons, and thank you for being a valued U-verse member.

Sincerely,
Your U-verse Team

ESPN is also subbing MAC games to ASN. Based on contractual requirements and that all available week one AAC games have been selected for ESPN College Extras, I'm guessing the footprint is bigger than ASN. As ASN grows, they may become an outlet for AAC games if ESPN can make a buck off of it.

ESPN 3 is junk. No one watches it. They just put the loser conferences on it.

US too! With 7 kiddos, our DVR rents for prime $ (above and beyond chores). With ESPN3, they can't hold sports over hubby's head. I'm afraid HDTV (read me) is the weak link.
