Good news. Especially if the FOX/ESPN/ASN rumors we've been hearing about the next C-USA contract are true.

So much of the GamePlan and FullCourt content was on ESPN3 and channels available with a sports package subscription that making a package of ESPN3 content available in the sports package instead of a pay-per-view makes a lot of sense.

So is this free under already existing plans, etc? Seems kind of vague to me on that front...

If you have DirecTV, it will be included in the SportsPack subscription (e.g. the $15ish monthly regional sports channel subscription).

Right it is now included in your sports package subscription.

So----doesn't the rumor of ESPN being part of the CUSA future television package make a lot more sense with this development?

Oic so its almost time to renew my sports package then, hopefully remains at $14...

This changes my issues with ESPN now if all of these ESPN 3 feeds will now be on TV, but will still be hard to get max. exposure with a thousand other games on ESPN3...I hope we still maintain Fox being our main network, but certainly would not mind if we got on ESPN a few times a year not on Tues. or Wed. and ESPN3 here or there...

Did any of you notice that the article mentioned all of the G5 conferences except C-USA, and the ODU - Eastern Michigan game on the 9/5 is on ESPN-3, but not listed in the games available on the new ESPN College Extra?

We do not yet have a contract with espn so they won't be carrying any C-USA owned games. They are not going to show all the espn3 games on tv so EMU - ODU would not be top of the list.

Finally, espn3 has my attention. I wonder what percentage of espn3 games will make it to the tube?

Great news for the MAC's TV deal!

ESPN GamePlan and ESPN FullCourt have been scrapped for ESPN "College Extra".

The MAC's selected ESPN3 football and basketball games can now be viewed on regular TV and will be available at Sports Bars across the nation.

"All Events will continue to be Available on ESPN3 across WatchESPN Platforms

ESPN today announced the launch of ESPN College Extra, a new college sports service that will bring hundreds of ESPN3 exclusive live college sports events to the TV.

ESPN College Extra live events from FBS conferences (including the ACC, The American, Big 12, MAC and Sun Belt) and FCS conferences (Atlantic Sun, Big South, Horizon League, MAAC, MEAC, MVC, Pioneer, Southland, Summit League, SWAC, WAC and more) will be delivered to fans on up to eight channels through a sports tier or other affiliated TV package."

Sounds to me like "The Ocho" may soon be a reality. I see them starting an online only ESPN 4, now that three is broadcast. And the cycle continues...

No idea on percentage but they will be able to carry as many as 8 at one time.

My guess is the ACC and American will probably benefit most, as I wouldn't be surprised to see most or all of their games broadcast on tv now... they both have the most guarantees built into their ESPN contracts for visibility.
