He said he'd go to those 'little Pirate Club meetings filled with jock sniffers. They'd tell how great you were and then the next week be trying to get you fired.' Thats a paraphrase but captures his intent and meaning. It's funny how those people are supposed to write the checks, attend the games, and give undying adulation, but let one or two criticize and they're all jock sniffers. I supported him all thru his tenure and thought he shouldn't have been fired when he was, but this comment burns his last bridge with me personally. He's jerk personified, IMO. :john:

For Me, the final straw was something along the line of the following (as best my memory serves me):

In a WITN interview at the beginning of his final season he made a comment somewhere along the lines of..."He didn't like home games because of the fans. He would rather play all his games on the road."

I wish I could remember the quote word for word.

I don't remember the article verbatim, but he came out in the Durham paper with very negative comments about our fans the day of the Duke game in 2002, that really turned my attitude towards him. I still supported him over Hamrick. I thought he should've come back for 2003, but I was for that to prove once and for all that he had 'lost it'. If not his grip on the job, he'd lost the bond with the fans. He blamed fans for Hamrick and Muse no doubt about it now.

He's no longer our coach - I couldn't care less.

I have it on very good authority that he thought Duke would beat us by three touchdowns though.

Isn't there a rule in the unofficial ECUbbs AUP about such things?

Here is the rule that you established...

Lethemeul Wrote:AUP #4

Steve Logan can only be mentioned when speaking of the historical past. No whining/wishing he was still here. We get to shoot you in the stomach with the cannon (D'OH!) if you opine for Logan.

I do believe that this thread is about the historical past from many moons ago when Steve Logan was the Pirate Football Coach and also the more recent past when Steve Logan was running his yapper on a radio show. This is not...I repeat...THIS IS NOT a violation of the psuedo ECUbbs AUP.

Take that you mod nazi! 03-wink

OK Mr. attorney. Tell me whose rights got violated here. I believe we also have a right to our opinions. I love it when people can't sell a point so they call their opponents for supposedly violating the constitution of the US. No such issue even exists. And just what supposed truth is it you mention that hurts?

I thought we were in a free country where we are allowed to give a rebuttal for the a$$holish remarks from a former coach.

Didn't say anyone violated anyone's rights....why the need to bring someone's peronal info into the discussion....

Just think some of you guys' vendetta against Logan is a bit irrational.....

I don't blame him one bit for being bitter towards ECU......he should never have been fired when he was - and CERTAINLY should not have been let go while that slimeball Hamrick was still on campus.

As for his specific comments, I don;t have a problem with them.....looking at how some of you act, he's probably dead on. Kiss his butt at C finction, then talk crap after he leaves......

"Didn't say anyone violated anyone's rights.."

Really? What was this then?.....

"Damn...here I thought we lived in country where you can say what you like...??????"

I think it's clear what you meant.

As for this one.....

"As for his specific comments, I don;t have a problem with them.....looking at how some of you act, he's probably dead on. Kiss his butt at C finction, then talk crap after he leaves......"

You're talking about something you have no idea about. You don't know what, if anything, anyone here commenting did or didn't do at banquets, what their stance was on his removal or their level of support during his tenure. I personally never tried to meet him, never called his show, never booed him or his players, never called for his removal, and I wrote the best check I could. He turned on everyone and it's clear by his comments that his true personality is coming out now. Some who blindly follow him to this day can't admit it.

He never "turned" on me.....and I can name scores of good Pirates who feel EXACTLY the same way I do. Some folks just never can figure out that football coaches aren't some type of industrialized model citizen that acts a certain pristine way no matter the situation placed before them...they're simply people - like the rest of us......I find it utterly amusing that so many adults (and yes, I've met you Roger - and know you're an adult) are still so petty about Logan and his time here....it amazes me.

..and for the record, there is no connection between what I typed and ANYTHING about anyone's constitutional rights being infringed upon....don;t believe I ever made mention of the government - or any specific actor....did I?

Nice try, though.
