I am guessing middle of the pack. Just a guess. Too many unknowns, and they do not go to a lot of trouble to research lower level teams.

All they will know is there is new AD, new Coaches, plus many new players. Seems to me middle of the pack is about the best they could do.
Sounds reasonable and fair to me.

I think you are right. Too many unknowns for preseason mags to pick us high. And, as Michaelspappy points out, most don't take much time really researching what teams might actually have at our level. The best, most compehensive, thorough (and most expensive) is the Blue Ribbon Yearbook. They actually do some preseason research at all levels. Hopefully we will finish higher than where we anticipate we'll be picked.

Middle of the back, at best. They'll point out that we lost 3 starters (White, Reid, and JT) and our only big men (White and Gus). Might give us some credit for Coach Beard's recruiting, but not sure how much. They will probably praise the signing of Ruttley and maybe the Juco All-American point guard. Other than that, who knows. Of course, magazines don't mean anything but they are fun to look at.

What about if they point out (the POSITIVE) that we have Josh back who was an all conference player, we have Roger who could have been all conference with his numbers if we would have won more and than we have Mareik back who led the conference in three point percentage and ranked 44th in the country in three point percentage at 6'9 and 1/2, than adding a JUCO all American in Marcus and an all defensive player at 6'11 in Lis and Rutley who they already considered one of the top 20 mid-major players to watch. It's time to start looking at the glass half full instead of half empty. Than again who give a rats --- where we come out in preseason rankings that some people are just guessing at. I hope they put us dead last, than we win the conference like we will.

I have to believe we'll be in the hunt for the championship this season We have too much talent to not be considered. Big men will determine our fate. Lot of talented depth everywhere else.

Well, I agree, but that wasn't my question.
