RE: EMU Training Camp Notes:
I'm a little surprised that Vann ended up higher on the depth chart than Juwan Lewis. Lewis is a powerful back who really wowed me during the Spring Game. He'll have his chance this year, I suppose.

Blake Banham was another dude that impressed back in April. I'm not surprised he'll be getting reps coming out of the backfield. From what I understand, he'll be often be used as a flex, running routes and occasionally lining up outside.

RE: EMU Training Camp Notes:
Not sure if the staff was ever high on Lewis as the lead back. I think they stuck him at FB last year.

I assume he is a step (or two) slow to be a feature back. Correct?

RE: EMU Training Camp Notes:
Dear Friends,
All I know is that Lewis will play his heart out, regardless of position. I met him at one of the luncheons last year, and he is dedicated to making Eastern better.

No denying that.

Wanted to wait till roster was updated before mentioning, but noticed my son got moved from WR to corner. an extremely talented kid that would play wherever it could help the team.

RE: EMU Training Camp Notes:
Someone probably noticed this well before I did, but Lavonte Robinson is a fullback now? I thought he would be a linebacker of the future, honestly.

Might be one helluva blocker. Bell probably thinks of him as a body guard.

RE: EMU Training Camp Notes:
We may be using a FB this year to help boost the blocking up front.

Boosting left OT tackle with Gardner. Hope he does for us what Fisher did for CMU a few years ago.

Good idea to boost the blocking with Gardner, Robinson, etc.

Got to keep Bell healthy.

We should know the two-deeps on Tuesday or Wednesday. At least that's how it has been in the past.

RE: EMU Training Camp Notes:
To me this season will seem more like a continued training session. I think about how many newcomers are on this team, redshirts, JUCOs true frosh . Whatever happens this season these newcomers will get a season under their belt and game experience. I'm looking forward to see how it all develops this year.

This year's team will be the most inexperienced team I've seen at EMU in a quarter of a century.

I'm almost shocked at the lack of experience in the 2-deeps at many positions. Most of the talent English recruited is 'gone, gone, gone.'

I really think we're going to take our lumps and hope for a decent season in 2016. Folks will be clamoring for November and the start of the basketball season.

I'm much less optimistic than say two or three weeks ago.

Agree. I think the ODU game will open some eyes here (in a bad way). Hey, no one would wish 20 straight losing seasons on anyone, let alone our beloved EMU, but this is going to be a rough year.
