Fan Appreciation Day
Am I the only one that went?

I'll admit, the practice was pretty boring to watch and it was hot out so I took a walk to Dubois to check out the Under Armour swag. Was super disappointed. If there were any nice t-shirts I would've bought two or three of them and the polos were garbage. In fact I almost bought an Adidas polo that was on clearance instead. Why don't they have the under armour t-shirts that the players/staff are wearing? Does the bookstore have those?

Decided to walk back to the practice because the meet and greet with the players started at 2pm. They had the players standing behind ribbons and folks could just walk up to them and chat. I talked with Kiel for a few seconds because there was a huge line but I talked quite a bit with the other quarterbacks and with Gantz. Gantz seems like a good guy. He's short. I'm about 5'5" and I was roughly eye level with him.

I walked over to talk to the receivers. I'm a big Shaq Washington fan and was hoping to get my photograph with him. However, he was swarmed with 18-19 year old college girls. There was one in particular that was hanging all over those guys. I could've talked to McKay and Chisum. They were just hanging out, but I was a chicken. Never know what to say to those guys when I meet them.

Tion Green was the most welcoming and outgoing of the players. He was walking around with a camera following him and really enjoyed meeting the fans and thanked them for their support. He really engaged the kids which was nice to see.

I was hoping to meet Boone and Williams, but they left the field before anyone else. When I turned to look for them, they were turning the corner exiting the field. I got there at 2:10 and the meet and greet was over by 2:30. Honestly, it was essentially over by 2:20.

Anyways, it was cool to meet some players, and I hope they do something like that again.

Oh, one more thing. I asked the qb's about the Under Armour uniforms. Their reaction, "They're super tight, but we like them". I asked them more about how they're tight. They said that they have a lot less give in them than the adidas uniforms and Moore told me that they have a panel across the upper abdomen that is very restrictive and affects his throwing motion.

Wonder if UA takes feedback from players...

Interesting posts. I was told by someone @ Rally House in early August that the campus bookstore got a two week advance sale opportunity on the new official UC Under Armour gear. I have no idea if that is true but I suppose it could have been in the contract. If so, we should begin to see the 2015 gear at other retailers about now.

The tightness of fit comment from players in interesting. I always thought the Adidas jerseys looked so tight that they stretched the numerals and names out of shape; not a good look.

I went to Rallyhouse at Rookwood on Sunday and they had maybe 3 or 4 new UA T-Shirts. I bought one and liked another but they did not have my size, not much of a selection yet

I ate dinner with McKay and Chisum at the Higher Ground 1200 Club event. They were both cool cats. Very personable and easy to talk to. In other words, they were kind enough to laugh at my stories, including the one about my friend who spent hours hacksawing a piece off the torn down goal post the day after the Wisconsin win in 1999.
