HIghly impressive for Akron to have the number of world class track athletes they do.

Barber has just announced that he's going pro, which means he will forgo his final season of eligibility at Akron. Can't say I blame him. At this point he's a favorite to medal in the Olympics. Might as well start getting some endorsement money.

His Olympic Medals will mean a great deal for the Akron program. Athletes with Olympic Medals make great recruiters

Great to see he'll be getting his degree and helping the team. Akron is loaded with good vaulters he can coach.

He signed with Nike. Since he's finishing his degree, he basically traded his scholarship in and got Nike to pay for the rest of his education. Can't beat that.
