Davis Love III steals the show. Love is one of my all time favorites, so I was exalted in my white privilege.

we called him the "turd" (in lieu of third)

there is something about those tall lanky guys....and I'm 6-3, used to weigh 185...

it was a term of endearment 03-wink

Congrats to DL3. !! A win in his home state of NC.

Further evidence that Eldrick Woods is nowhere close to winning anything.

c'mon man.....eldrick is one of the greatest....the turd is exclusively geographically dependent....how many did he win at harbor town????? he should've have been one of the greats....he had the tools that el tigre had and was a poosie in the skull...

us golfers never had respect for him.....that's why when he captains the next ryder cup, it will be fail.....just like watson....

it should be couples or phil.........can't wait (in anticipation) to watch phil captain the team.....

I went to the PGA at Oak Hill in 2013. On the first day, Love was paired with Tiger, so I followed them all morning. Phil was in the afternoon bunch, so I got to follow him also.

It took DL3 since what '97 to defeat Eldrick. I agree with you that the fella from Chapel Hill has not lived up to what he should have. But when you get $3500 a week from the Datrell Survet for the Titleist Driver plus RL plus Titleist, you don't have to win to make $$.

I'm glad that he understands that there is no reason to "fear" Eldrick. I just wish he would have realized it 18 years ago. He made that historic statement of being " afraid" of TW ,... That's what cooked his goose. He is a puss for certain, but so are most of them.

But hey I still have a pic of myself with a buddy of mine and DL3 from years ago so on display in my office so there you have it. I still root for him.

nobody realized it 18 yrs ago.....the reason I love the greats is b/c the money was never their motive....this is why Jordan Spieth is going to be the next great one IMO....

and having the pic is cool too.....he is/was one of the best during his era....and his father was one of the best teachers of all time....

I'm gay about how golf defines the person (to most when describing my passion)....I'm a lifer.....and I'm lucky to have been able to surround myself in that environment.....

Love is sixth on the all time list of tournament money winners at $44 million. Only Vijay, Furyk and Els are ahead of him. You probably can figure out who is number one and two.

Tigers body began to fall apart after he was forced to stop taking PEDS. Stick a fork in him.

I don't know. He made a schit ton of birdies. If he can get his scrambling game back, he'll be right back up there. When he was at the top of his game, he was able to save par after an errant shot. That is the missing piece right now and it is a percision piece, not a strength piece. If he puts it together in the next couple of years, he may well still have a few majors left in him.

coming from a scratch golfer (even today at 50 that can fly it 280) that took 15 testosterone injections in the ass due to a automobile accident when I couldn't recover from the weight loss that took me down to 135 at 6-3 (and got 'em from a bodybuilder back in the early '80s b/c my gp wouldn't prescribe them to me)....they have zero bearing of getting it in the hole....

see "yip chip" comment as a simple example....

it's easy to understand the average hdcp of the posters on any golf topic.....

you guys don't have a clue what it takes.....hate to be brash....but that's just the way things are....

edit: study up on beta blockers.....

That's why they are banned and have been. Exactly right on target!

There are differences in misses and good misses in golf. Tiger is not having the "good misses" any longer.

I'm not the caliber of Stink, about + 12 north. But I doubt very seriously that Eldrick wins a major on the PGA again.

I hope you're wrong....it's gonna cost me a wad unless one of us dies in the next 15 yrs (I made a large bet years ago that tiger would break jack's major record)

I'll gladly take some of that action. Be cause it will not happen.

lol....revised odds of tiger breaking jack's record are now 1:100....if you want to lay 10k to win a hundo...I'll take that bet...would be a nice hedge play for me 03-wink

either of the original bettors dying by 2030 is 3:1

we're both 50....

I lay 'em when asked 03-wink

I was really going for Tiger there. I certainly would've never watched a single round in my lifetime if it weren't for him.

Davis Love III is two months younger than me. It would have been cool if I could have said I'm younger than a winner on the PGA Tour again. Now I need Jamie Moyer or Julio Franco to un-retire. Or maybe Tom Watson can mount one more charge at a British Open (which may be tough since he said this year was his last year in that event).

RE: Tiger got everyones attention but
I'm not a golf fan, hell I've never played anything beyond putt putt but on a trip a few years back for hazmat training we were in Cincy waiting on our connector flight when on of the guys with me gasps and says "Oh my God that's Davis Love III!" He made like a 13 year old girl who sees Justin Bieber and calls the rest of us over. Love was accommodating and seemed like a genuine nice guy so I'm glad to hear he won.

Still think that golf courses are the second biggest wastes of pasture land behind cemeteries but that's just me.
