Pappy's Predictions - #3
#3 - Georgia State

WHAT I LIKE:
They have a very good coach and are in the habit of winning. They return their leading rebounder and their #3 and #4 scorers. Markus Crider shoots a very good percentage and is poised to be a force inside. There are several role players who are set to emerge from the long shadow of the H Twins (Harrow and Hunter). Two important transfers set to check in: Jeremy Hollowell from Indiana and Isaiah Williams from Samford. In other words, they are reloading.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
You don't lose two players of the caliber of Harrow and Hunter, not to mention Curtis Washington and Ryann Green, without having a huge hole to fill. Whether or not they are able to adequately fill it remains to be seen. And that pretty well sums up the task for GSU this year. They are moving into a new era with a huge new question mark.

Over the last two seasons, almost every other shot (48.2%) was taken by one of two players. That means that this program has a large adjustment to make. The good news is that they have two nice transfers coming in, and a couple of key players (Crider and Ware) ready to move into the limelight. How well they fill the void is the big question - really the only question - that has to be answered in Atlanta this year. My guess is that they will still be very good, but possibly not quite at the level they have been over the last couple of years.
