I don't know if Southern did last year or not but where Apps stadium is located it would make sense.

We aren't but it will be a logistical mess.

Tailgate lots wil open at 3 which will displace prime spots for student parking, if you've coming up for the game you may want to add a 30 minute buffer to the usual travel time.

We never have but I think it has been generally understood that if youre teaching a class game day and its not full, well you know why. You would think some professors would cancel on their own.

No, but we have parking nazi's that ticket people for parking in the wrong lot. Unsuspecting football fans who park in a student parking lot on a week day will find a nice surprise from Arkansas State on their windshield when they return.

Not that anyone actually pays those tickets. School has no teeth when it comes to enforcing payment on non students.

They should cancel classes, and show support of the school.....but most of those (liberal) teachers hate football.

Those damn liberals think that people go to college to learn and sh!t... Like somehow education is more important than tailgating. Who do they think they are?

The same guy that didn't want to compete against high school football for attendance in 2 weeks?

RE: Thursday Night Games
South has a Thursday night and Tuesday night game this year. And we have an off campus stadium. Who knows what they will do with the evening classes, much less afternoon. A lot of people will have to leave work early to make the game. I think the Tuesday and Thursday night games get you TV exposure, but could hurt attendance numbers.

Some day I will give you a random rep point to make up for this. As God is my witness it shall be done. (Please read with a bit of dramatic flair for full effect.)

And as strongly as I feel about this issue I may rattle off a bunch of posts on this very thread. Then again school is starting so I may not have loads of time until next week.

RE: Thursday Night Games
The reason for asking is that App just released their parking plans for the Thursday games. The students got royally screwed as they can't park in their regular spots for the entire day and are encouraged to "go green" with bicycles, walking, Appalcart, car-pooling, etc. Donors can start parking at 3 pm EST.

The faculty absolutely refused to budge on not cancelling classes on Thursday gamedays. For a Chancellor who has been on the job 13 months and an AD for 5 months, it wasn't their hill to die on. It's not a perfect plan and having classes after 3 pm on gamedays in crazy IMO, but it'll be learned from.
