20000 Alabama/Mississippi Baptists turn out to see a Philandering Gambling Magnate.

---

This keeps getting better. This is an utter disaster for the GOP. Total trainwreck.

---

1) Trump might be able to get 30 percent of the GOP to support him, but he's likely topped out there.
2) Trump is the only candidate that will actually motivate a historically very undervoting population to actually vote (Hispanic Americans), seriously harming the GOP candidates' chances in Florida, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada...and ...well screw it...GOP loses Florida, they lose the election. And it looks like the GOP nominee isn't going to go all 'Sista Souljah' on Trump's racism (Which is the play here).
3) Trump is totally smothering all the other candidates. And any bad news that could hit Hillary
4) Trump is opening a rift between the tea party and FOX News. Awesome.
5) This is likely to continue for months now.
6) Virtually every single one of Trump's supporters are reliable Republican voters. He's not adding anything.
7) Every other GOP candidate looks small because they can't get around this doofus. And that 'not ready for prime time' moniker will stick to them after Trump is gone.

---

I'm really enjoying this. What I want to happen now is for the party stalwarts to do some dirty tricks and handpick a candidate to defeat Trump (I'm hoping for Jeb). That way, those supporting Trump will be livid and Trump might go Third Party.

---
Of course, there IS a way out of this for a GOP candidate. Go strong anti-Trump. You'll get plenty of airtime, and Trump will go after you (as he is very thin skinned), thereby making you the anti-Trump. That's how you get around him.

as asinine as what that writing demonstrates.....that is the fear of the right when it comes to numbers...

that one I won't argue.....and I damn sure won't argue why you think that's a good thing....

I already know why you like that platform......it would be pointless...

Yes, and that it was an impressive moment for Trump...circling the stadium with his 757 was a nice touch.

Fortunately, none of them will take advice from someone who hates Republicans. That, of course, would be the worst step. You don't want to look like you don't belong at the adult table. Trump will blow up sooner or later. If he's still leading the pack in February, then you get a little more concerned.

Trump isn't my guy, but he'll get more white votes than anyone in history, more black votes than any Republican in 30 years, and probably no less Hispanic share than Romney. The math actually works ok for him.

By February, it will be way to late. Iowa and NH are in January and the SEC primary is soon after.

You're Scott Walker now... you gotta do something or you lose Iowa. You lose Iowa and your campaign is likely finished.

You're Ted Cruz now...you have to win either in Iowa or in the SEC primaries or youre done. Trump is really hurting you.

You're Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio...you have to win Florida or you're done.

You're Kasich...you absolutely have to have NH. Also for Rand Paul.

Right now, all of the candidates sitting in the race with Trump getting 33 percent isn't a good place to be for the GOP candidates.

At some point, if Trump doesn't self destruct, the candidates are going to have to go after him. The challenge is to do so effectively without looking as foolish as Trump.

The Democrats couldn't have scripted it better if they tried.

Well after Dixie, they will probably go after Sweet Home Alabama next. "And the governor's true."

Heard "Virgil Cain" tonight for the first time in a long time and got me thinking about that. That song wouldn't get airplay now even though it is really kind of anti-war.

"The night they drive ol Dixie down"
Ironically performed by a Canadian band with an Arkansan drummer singing.

RE: Sweet Home Alabama
Virgil Caine is the name, and I served on the Danville train,
Til Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again.
In the winter of '65, we were hungry, just barely alive.
By May the tenth, Richmond had fell, it's a time I remember, oh so well,

[Chorus]
The night they drove old Dixie down, and the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down, and the people were singin'. they went
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,

Back with my wife in Tennessee, when one day she called to me,
"Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E. Lee!"
Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good.
Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest,
But they should never have taken the very best.

[chorus]
The night they drove old Dixie down, and the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down, and the people were singin'. they went
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,

Like my father before me, I will work the land,
Like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand.
He was just eighteen, proud and brave, but a Yankee laid him in his grave,
I swear by the mud below my feet,
You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat.

The night they drove old Dixie down, and the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down, and all the people
were singin', they went
Na, la, na, la, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,

The night they drove old Dixie down, and all the bells were ringing,
The night they drove old Dixie down, and the people were singin', they went
Na, la, na, la, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na
