I still say it's Marshall's until they lose a game. I think La tech wins tonight but wouldn't be shocked if they lost. I think we have a rematch of last years ccg regardless of tonight's result.

RE: LA Tech vs WKU
I am more confident in a Tech victory today than I was against SU. I am usually worried about a WTF game from Tech but this isn't it. I see Tech scoring in the mid 50's and WKU with at least 3 turnovers. The only player on WKU that has me nervous at all is Allen. If WKU can run the ball consistently and control the clock they will have a chance. Limiting Tech to 3 possessions a quarter will keep it close and then who knows what crazy things can happen.

as dwight schrute would say....FALSE.

there's been a ton of smack talked but it was decidedly one-sided. from the la tech side. there've been a few western fans (i wasn't one) that have tried to mitigate the drubbing by using the fact that a teammate died in a fire the night before the game.

people that lose by our score didn't talk smack. if you go back and read through this thread you'll probably find as many western fans expecting a loss as a win. (i'm already down for the loss. penciled it in a long time ago when the schedule came out). 99% of tech fans are calling for a tech win. they have the blueprint for beating doughty. he'll be running for his life tomorrow night.
Will you hush already?? Jeesh, you can be so self righteous and petty at the same time. Just say good luck and move on.

unfortunately for you i'm not one of your former parolees so you don't get to give me commands and watch me sit and roll over for you. i will call bullmierda on a bullmierda statement. you say me correcting you is petty. i call it holding you accountable for false statements. you say western talked smack. i say we didn't. you don't like to be talked back to do you? and why would i say good luck? i want to win. i don't expect to win but i want to. so why on god's green earth would i wish you luck?

i can wish you no injuries but nothing more than that.

so i hope there are no injuries for either team.

have a nice day.

Do you fly a 172? If so are you flying up here for the game?

I have, I don't but I do love Cessnas. I will be witnessing the glories of Tech from my couch as my new job and three kids do not permit me from attending.

how did you feel going from the 2nd to the 3rd kid? we are expecting our third bulldawg in Jan. Not sure what we are putting ourselves into yet :)
As another Tech fan told me before the birth of my last kid. Its like going from man coverage to zone! Besides that I love it. My boys are great and future bulldogs to!!

lol that is funny!

LA Tech vs WKU
I'm feeling better about a good crowd because of the weather forecast. My guess is 20k tonight.

I think that despite it being a Thurs game, the stadium is going to be electric!

Student turnout should be really good I would hope! Not sure about other fans in BG....Lots of bandwagon NFL fans abound believe or not in BG....I believe we will hit 20k though which is great for WKU and weeknight game...

I was looking at the ticket master seat pick page yesterday. lots and lots of seats for sale on the old side. I'd guess an attendance around 15 to 16k

Thursday nights are normally some of our better attended games. I hate them because it kills tailgating but I bet you hit 20.

you overestimate western's fanbase by about 3k. lucky to hit 17. and there is basically no tailgating tonight. i think they're opening up around 2 hours before the game.

i'm not sure we had 20k for the opener last year on a beautiful friday night against bowling green. today the sky is gray. it's not supposed to rain tonight but we have very fair weather fans. and that's the literal use of fair weather fans.

WKU fans are the attendance excuse masters of college football. That being said, tonight I'd expect 22+. Go TOPS

Anything over 20,100 would be Top 10 all-time for WKU.

With all the preseason hype they got, the returning NCAA passing leader, coming off a win over Vandy, and they get a chance to take out revenge on a team that beat them last year like dabeed would a lazy mule, anything less than a sellout would be disappointing. I would think below 20K should be unacceptable.

I am really hoping for a huge crowd! People need to see that CUSA fans take big games seriously.

Administration at WKU as of this morning is expecting 20,000 to 21,000. That would be pretty decent, and look good on TV.

RE: LA Tech vs WKU
attendance is what it is at every respective institution.

the sunbelt board was constantly full of attendance smack. i ranked it right up there with marching band smack.

there's not a single thing i can do to help attendance other than buy my tickets and give them to someone else if i can't make it.

as long as we're making whatever is required by the ncaa i will not be disappointed.

western's fanbase for football is pretty much twice as large as it was during the fcs years. that amazes me since i've been following western since i was a kid and we've never been attendance champions.

western having a full crowd or a small crowd on tv will have ZERO effect on other schools. ZERO.

so don't be disappointed at the small crowd tonight. people will have a million excuses why they couldn't come. they're just not really big western fans. they don't make it a priority. i'm looking outside at a gray sky with the wind blowing right now. whoops....there went 500 more fans staying home. god forbid it rains between now and gametime.

if we were playing uk tonight it would be full. honestly la tech doesn't push the needle at all in bowling green. EKU would be a bigger pull. i know this town.

the student section should be it's largest size of the year but it'll thin by halftime with them heading to the thursday night parties.

I mostly agree, but it does affect perception as a conference. I don't think haggling over a couple thousand here and there is worth it. One of the BIG games in our conference this year should have a nice looking crowd and a loud atmosphere. It helps all of us, IMO
