The American schools have really emphasized facilities.

SMU, UConn, ECU, Cincy, Tulane, UCF, Memphis, USF and Houston have each made significant improvements in the last 10 years or less.

I don't know much about what's going on at Tulsa, Temple or Navy. But Tulsa's basketball arena isn't "old."

Yeah, We have $24 million on hand with another $6M committed. They should wrap up the rest in the next few months.

Breaking ground on the Basketball Facility first of October and then they will break ground on the football facility closer to the end of football season. They do not want to disrupt football practice with all the construction.

AAC getting it done.

Crud, just when I think I understand the game, y'all throw me a curve. Seriously and sadly, I contemplated the 55 yd line b/f recalling the Woloshin snafu/trademark.

Likely so for the time being. There needs to be a real publicity campaign for the women's programs. That old field house rocks when it's packed

Its the perfect arena for womens hoops. Very tough place for vistors. JLM still laughs about the time Pat summit was po'ed she had to play there. Same night you fired the ladies radio guy. He overheard pats rant and on the air called ut, "the ******* in orange britches" lol

An invite to the P5 solves that problem too. 03-wink

Pretty sure it will be the full 120 yards....110 makes no sense.

Most of the new indoor facilities are 120 yds long...but in the past, mostly do to land/space restrictions, there were plenty of indoor facilities that were less than 120 yds, some barely half that. Also I think the person who responded with 55 yd line comment forgot to count the end zone(s) space.

Nah, the 55 yard line comment was a joke directed at a screw up (one of many) made by our 'Voice of the Tigers' Dave Woloshin...there are times when he's just painful to listen to.

I reckon 100% is a valid time frame. He's terrible.

dont be stupid - there was an electrical fire in October 2002 that destroyed the old turf room, but insurance covered the loss and it was rebuilt as an added part of the Murphy Complex construction contract and completed in 2003. its a 50 yard field that was one of the first in the south. its biggest problem is its not tall enough for kicking in. it will revert to baseball and softball use once the new IPF is completed

the Murphy Complex as it sits today. the new IPF will be on field 1 (the unmarked field in this photo)

the track and pitch are done except for grandstand renovations which I dont think will happen until they decide when to move the matches back from Mike Rose.

I wish they would hurry up with that decision. The Rose complex is very nice but we need to get soccer back onto our campus.

I miss JLM. She was a joy to have on campus. I was on the athletic staff while she was coaching there. I really enjoyed her being around!

Thanks, and I agree with Gray Avenger, it would be nice for the soccer teams to have a home on campus.

Yet his interviews are gold>>

With Trips lined up on the left or right. I kid you not, I thought that "Trips" kid would never graduate! Before I knew the game and semi understood the lingo.
