90% percent of the arrests for ECU are possession of marijuana

Really? As that would be basically account for 10 out of the 11 arrests...but facts show:

Quick search (maybe more are out there)

2014: ECU Football player arrested for felony second-degree kidnapping and misdemeanor simple assault.
http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/ECU-F...01801.html

2014: ECU Football Player arrested for assaulting a female policer who's jaw was broken
http://www.wcti12.com/news/ecu-football-...m/28241904

2012: 3 ECU Players charged with discharging a weapon from a vehicle
http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/Stree...03381.html

2010: 2 players arrested: 1 charged with resisting and obstructing a police officer, while the other was arrested on multiple charges:
include underage consumption of alcohol, intoxication and simple affray
http://www.ecupirates.com/genrel/032910aab.html

Yes, ECU has had multiple players arrested for selling drugs on/near campus but their players have gotten into other trouble as well (as have others at most schools but not near the totals that ECU has had over last 5 years)

I'm thinking that had to be a house party getting broken up or something. I mean, Mary Jane is legal in that state anyways, so they shouldn't be getting arrested for that.

1. Not on scholarship. Didn't even know he existed.

2. The discharging a weapon arrest was for an air-soft gun..... Not serious at all.

Lmao, you can't help it of a kid goes and does dumb stuff. What are we gonna do? Have a nanny go around with them? Terry Williams is the only actual contributer to have been arrested for anything. And when they are arrested they're either kicked off, or they have to do numerous things such as upwards of 300 hours of community service, anger course, rehab, letters of apology if they were involved in something with amother person.

Now UCF on the other hand had JJ Worton aressted and what do they do? Suspend him for the spring and make him do extra up downs. And then when Jeff Godfrey was arrested multiple times for driving with a suspended license he wasn't even punished to my knowledge. You can find me a link if he was.

He was arrested once for driving with a suspended license. License was suspended for having a few unpaid tickets. I don't think you should be worrying about the team with around 1/4 of the arrests of ecu and how we discipline our players. Clearly, whatever we're doing is working better than what you're doing. Either that or we just recruit kids with better character.

You're talking about a team that had Kevin Smith, one of our best players EVER (frankly one of the best college football running backs ever), suspended for the usf game one year which was one of the biggest games of the year. Why was he suspended for the entire game? He missed curfew.

1. Not on scholarship.

The guy would researched the list did not distinguish between scholarship or non-scholarship players...but since scholarship players make up a majority of one's roster...majority of arrests seem to be made by those individuals (some names were common during recruiting battles between schools)

Not sure if you're trying to seem strict by that? That's a pretty common standard of punishment for missing curfew. Notice GOL also said "after I got all the facts on it" so he was obviously doing something else while he was out. It's not like he had to run to McDonald's for a midnight snack.

It couldnt be that you can actually get away with stuff in Orlando becuase of its size. If you do something illegal in Greenville you're gonna get caught

We are Pirates after all :ecu:

In all seriousness there isn't anybody around the ECU program or that is remotely familiar with it that would accuse Ruff, Conners, or Holland and now Compher of having a lax attitude about player discipline. Troubled athletes don't stick around long.

(I am a little concerned about Compher having been at NIU after seeing how many arrests they had. Hopefully he supports Ruff and the other coaches in their disciplinary action and the 'tough love' mentality that the program has developed)

Edit: What the hell happened to our little Pirate smilie guy?!?

No, you can't nanny them around...but I think some schools do a much better job at back-ground info than others and/or do a much better job at consequences of any action that does come up...as most "Tigers" don't change their stripes...hence why there is a big difference between those with 15-30 plus arrests and those programs with less than 5.

We got 3 arrests added to our tally at once because 3 of our players were riding around shooting cans with air-soft guns..........

There is nothing about O'Leary saying what you quoted in the article you linked. He wasn't even quoted at all in the article, it was a spokesperson lol. He was pulled over because the officer suspected his windows were illegally tinted, and his license was suspended so he was arrested. There were no drugs in the car, he wasn't drunk, so thats the end of the story. How in the hell would you know he wasn't going to get food? You're just speculating and assuming he was doing something else wrong which is ridiculous.

Obviously, the only reason that UCF has significantly less players arrested in a 5 year span is because Orlando is a bigger city than Greenville. You're arguments are speculative and just plain dumb. ecu has a lot more arrests than UCF so maybe you could learn a thing or two. You have absolutely no way to call out UCF on this subject being an ecu fan lol.

So subtract those 3 and see where the tally falls. Not favorably for ecu in this instance.
