It's actually 2.5. I think they took off the 500 for the city.

Well at least then they are acknowledging the city's donation.

This comment from Karen Brooks on 6/3 rings loud and clear now.

"Our Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Operations, Ray Hays, is working closely with Dr. Watts and UAB Athletics Director Mark Ingram to help make sure the university secures in a reasonable time frame the outside financial resources necessary to reinstate the football, bowling and rifle programs," Board President Pro Tem Karen Brooks said in a statement Wednesday afternoon after the board was contacted for comment on Monday."

Ray Hayes is the guy being groomed to be the next Chancellor. Since Robert Witt's dementia has progressed, Hayes is the one making the decisions.

Anyone see a pattern with the dates getting pushed back all the time?

we better have a signed contract by December is all I'm saying or we will end up with another Neil Callaway.

I'm hopeful we blow them away Sept 1 and make them try and move the bar publicly.

Folks, if you want to help make sure that we have the $2M by Sept 1, go ahead and make some pledge payments immediately. Dont depend on the bigshots on the Committee to have to carry that load because they are setting up to work on raising funds for the facilities upgrades, not necessarily to front the funds needed aspart of our pledge drive regarding operational costs for football, etc. To stand pat and say that you aren't going to pay a dime before Coach Clark is signed up wont help , but just gives ammunition to those to want to claim that we wont pay our comittments.

Make out a check payable to the UAB Athletic Dept, put you pledge account # on the check ( if you have one ) and at the bottom left of the check, write "For Football, Rifle, and Bowling. That way there can be no question where the funds are to be directed. We turned in 2 checks yesterday covering 2/3rds of our first years pledge; I hope that you fellow Blazers can pony up whatever you can afford now so that we can prove any naysayers wrong.

I have a hard time believing anything Alan Collins tweets and he's supposed to be a decent reporter.
